We really enjoy our stay at this B&B! Sofia, the owner, was always on top of everything and sending us information ahead of time. We arrived late at night and if it wasn't for her directions, I am not sure we would have found the place. She also gave us recommendations for dinner in town. Loved the large room and extra comfortable bed. Great spa style shower :)!! Give it a 11/10!!

We didn't get to stay very long in Fort Augustus, but very much enjoyed the time we were able to spend. It's in a lovely area and was very walkable, near to lots of great places to visit within short driving distance. There was lots of shopping, but affordable restaurant options seemed more limited--everything closed very early. After dark, everything shut down and it was very quiet, which was great for peaceful sleep. I organize group travel and would consider staying longer with a group for future trips.

Lovely area, right on the end of Loch Ness with terrific views. The Canal Locks are great to watch in operation, with all types of boats going through. Good restaurants and nice pub along the canal. Good central place to visit other areas, Inverness, Mallaig and Fort William.

Situated at the end of Loch Ness with a steep set of locks which form the start of the Caledonian Canal, Fort Augustus is a must visit destination if you are in the area. There is a good sized car park and an excellent choice of places to eat. We had an excellent meal at the Chinese restaurant. Lots of opportunities for boat trips along the loch and some nice shops for souvenirs.

We stayed here only one night whilst doing the Great Glen Way although it seemed like a beautiful place and there seemed to be many other things to do in the area. Lots of options for dinner (compared with other towns along the way).

Fort Augustus is a great spot to attractions in the area and easy drive for location upto 2hours away, like Glencoe, Fort William, Glenfinnin Viaduct, Aviemore ski fields, Urquart Castle, Inverness, Skye. Cruising or walk along Loch Ness are brilliant.
The town is gorgeous with many good eateries within walking distance or a short drive away.
Locals are friendly, inviting and engaging. I would live there if I could!

Didn't see much of Fort Augustus really.
Didn't see much of Fort Augustus really. Walked around a bit in the evening when we arrived. Only there for 2 days and used as a base for trips around Loch Ness - Urquart Castle, Culloden Battlefield. Which were all great.
Arrived on a Friday night after 8pm in early November. Only places still serving food were a very expensive Chinese restaurant in a hotel and a place called The Moorings which appeared to be a kebab shop that dabbled in everything else. Unfortunately, they should stick to one thing and really try to nail that. We ordered the worst eat out Pizzas we've ever eaten - worse than home brand supermarket frozen and they were very expensive - £15+ each. Even the local chip shop was closed, at 8.30pm on a Friday! OK, we didn't come for the late night fast food. Bring your own or eat a good lunch.
Amazing location right in the centre of Fort Augustus, overlooking the locks to Loch Ness. Very clean, comfortable bed and great shower. We stayed in Loch Lochy room, it had a freestanding bath which felt such a romantic luxury and was wonderful to soak tired muscles! It also had a balcony which would be lovely in warmer weather.
The lovely lady Liz who we met was really friendly and informative. She told us all about the locks and we loved watching the road close and swing open to let the boats come through.
We would definitely return!
The apartment is situated in an old convent. I absolutely loved the ambiance and traditional interior (with modern bathroom and nice kitchen). It's a personal preference, though -I travelled with my father, who prefers modern hotels, and he was less charmed. Hosts were helpful and friendly. Apartment was clean and comfortable. There was a great little info guide on places to eat and explore in the area, as well as practical instructions (e.g. on how to control the heating and where to put our rubbish) and guidelines (e.g. on pets).
Everything! Fab location right on Loch Ness. We loved the dogs and the chickens wandering about everyday. Sadly we didn't get to see the horses or the Highland coos as the owners were away so they weren't wandering about and we didnt end up looking for them. My kids loved running around the grounds playing and the tree swing! Very close to main fort augustus so that was just a wee walk away which we easily walked everyday. We honestly had a great time and definitely recommend it.
Affordable apartment in Hogwarts-style resort; the amenities are wonderful for families with an indoor swimming pool (must pre-book a time), ping-pong, billiards, board games etc and the ability for archery, ax-throwing and knife-throwing right on Loch Ness. The apartment gave us the option to cook our own meals after driving long distances and eating out during our 10-day trip. It is a great launching site to other places in the Highlands and our family really enjoyed it!
The Room 4 is of reasonable size, sparkling clean, comfortable bed and strong shower, with picturesque scenery outside the window. The breakfast was generous of very good quality which was served buffet like. It is located within a few minutes of walk to the Caledonian Canal and the Loch Ness Viewpoint. Restaurants are within walking distance. Alastair and his wife have given us warm welcome and very good service. Would return and highly recommend.
The ambience, surroundings and environment were exceptional and out of this world, even better than the official loch ness viewport at Fort Augustus. Lots of effort placed into the decoration of the cabin and it was really comfortable staying in. Due to its unique location and nature, it feels very private and privileged. We had fun using the self catering kitchen - felt at home! Not forgetting that the host Osh was super friendly and jovial.
We loved everything about the Cabin. The hosts had added so many lovely touches which we appreciated so much, a map of the area on the wall was really useful, lots of leaflets for local attractions and most importantly cakes on arrival! The location is perfect for exploring the beautiful highlands and the village of Fort Augustus and Loch Ness are just a short walk away if you want to go on a boat trip or get something to eat.
The apartment is in a fantastic central location for Fort Augustus, secure access and parking with incredible facilities! Loads to do, loads of places to eat, thats if you choose not to stay in and cook yourself! Clean, modern, comfortable and spacious with a long history and sublime views straight onto Loch Ness! Check out the photo from the window at sunrise...
The original property and abbey are beautiful. The location at the base of Loch Ness is special, though there’s not much going on or available in the adjacent town of Fort Augustus.
Some of the shared facilities are very nice - the pool (for which you need a booking!?), the games room, the giant chess and the outdoor kids playing area.
Greeting staff were very helpful, location is fantastic in Fort Augustus Lochness, right beside the locks, pubs and loch cruises. Spar petrol station 2 minute walk away sells pretty much everything at fair prices. Great location to watch the boats navigate the canal or explore wider if you wish
A nice little find for one night whilst we were passing through the area. Immaculately clean, friendly staff and in very close proximity to the little town of Fort Augustus from which you can take a boat trip out onto Loch Ness. Impressed by bathroom facilities - good size.
location in Fort Augustus was ideal! it is right on the great glen way hike. great place to meet other travellers. the kitchen and complimentary breakfast was nice. was great that they had lockers to store valuables in. they had charging stations on every bed.
Quiet location just out of Fort Augustus. Beautiful landscape, deer around the house and a rural atmosphere.
Spacious kitchen and living room. Comfortable shower. If the weather had been warmer, we would have made use of the sitting area outside.
Spectacular views of the Loch and walking distance from Fort Augustus attractions
