Mellington Hall Country House Hotel, hotel in Forden

Mellington Hall Country House Hotel features a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Church Stoke. With free WiFi, this 4-star hotel offers room service and a business centre.

Room was nicely decorated and spacious. The breakfast was amazing and I think one of the best I have ever had in a hotel. I have some allergies which means I have to be careful what I eat, where I stay etc. The hotel was very helpful and accommodating with this and they even tailored the breakfast to my needs! They have a broad selection in general.

The Dragon Hotel, hotel in Forden

Fabulous location, lovely food and attentive, friendly staff. The only downside was not having a stand-up shower in the room but not a major issue to workaround (there was a handheld one).

Fantastic value for money. The room was stunning! Very clean and the hosts were lovely. I couldn’t ask for more. There’s lots to do in the area if you’re active but it’s also a great place to just go and relax. 11/10

Good base, we walked in Shropshire, visited Powis Castle, visited Ironbridge and spent a day on the beach at Borth. As well as eating at the property we ate at Spice Uk in Welshpool, had fish and chips at the beach and Zizzi's in Telford. All the above were 45 mins- 1 hour away except Borth which was 1 hour 20 mins away from Forden.

Forden itself is a very small community but is only a few miles from - Montgomery - a village with amenities as well as charm plus fabulous views from the ruins of its castle - historic Powis Castle and it's beautiful gardens and deer park - and the town of Welshpool.
