Flitwick is a large-ish rather affluent village and very much residential. I don't think there's much going on or anything unusual in terms of attractions & events, but it's quiet and pretty despite proximity to the motorway. So the hotel makes for a fine way stop on one's travels elsewhere, yet is appealing enough I would happily stay an extra day or two for the sake of it.

Really nice building and staff with good parking and lovely grounds in a quiet location but with good access to surrounding area. Limited menu for dinner but good food. First part of driveway very potholed so a concern arriving in a sports car. No main light in bedroom a little odd.

This is a big, old, creaky house.

This is a big, old, creaky house. Lots of evidence of peeling paint, peeling wallpaper etc but care has obviously been lavished on the place from room to room, to make it passable. Staff were friendly and efficient. Breakfast was excellent and the Full English was as good as any I've ever had. Our room was big and generally clean but the carpet was stained harshly in several places and the shower was unusable because it was added to a bath with a sloping ceiling directly above it. A midget could have showered happily, but not us.Weirdly, a full shower head was attached to the bath taps ...it seemed churlish to complain but a shower was impossible. All in all I thought it was a pretty good place but a bit dear for the room offered.

    Location was perfect for us.

Location was perfect for us. However our room, called Trevor, was outside of the main building, on a gravel courtyard which was noisy with peoples footsteps and cars coming and going. Heard member of staff arriving at 5.30 am each morning and doing something with bins. Bathroom needs attention, sink tap didn’t work and shower awful, just a trickle.
