The location was perfect for our time in Ely. This was a perfect place to arrive at the end of the day. Elaine was quick to respond to any questions or needs we had.

Ely is a wonderful small town for a few days stay - along the river is excellent on a fine day and a nice pub to have a drink and watch the world go by. Ely Cathedral was magnificent - we have visited many across UK and this is certainly one of the best - Stained Glass exhibition is also worth a visit. Cromwells House and Ely Museum worth a visit if you have time. Ely Cathedral has the Armoury Cafe which we would recommended for lunch. For dinner: The Lamb was excellent with wonderful food at a fair price.

Stayed at a hotel 10 minutes walk into Ely, the weather was extremely windy but we enjoyed the walk. We found quite a few quirly shops plus alll the usual high street shops, a few cafes and few places pto have a tea or coffee. We were surprised that the local carparks were free … what a bonus.
We walked around the cathedral and were amazed at the beauty of this truly amazing stricture.
We can recommend the Minster Arms for an evening meal, where they offer good food and ample servings.
We only stayed for a day and night but there will definately be another return visit to Ely

We loved the cathedral, which was at its most mystical when we visited in December. We attended two fantastic events in the cathedral during our stay – but needed a mulled wine afterwards to warm us up!
Another high point was the Farmers' market, which had all sorts of tempting foodstuffs on offer.

Loved the cathedral and the purpose of the visit was to see a performance of Dickens “A Christmas Carol” in the evening at the cathedral. A lovely way to start Christmas. A very good production of professional actors. Also went to the market and High Street and Oliver Cromwell’s house. All very interesting and enjoyable. Great pubs, good beer and food within walking distance.
Really lovely touches with the milk and pastries for the morning. Kitchen had everything we needed to make a big breakfast!
Room and bathroom was lovely and spacious and the perfect space for our night's stay!
Host was really friendly and super helpful with tips for our walk and even gave us a lift back into town so we could get our train back and save some money on a taxi, thank you!
Would definitely recommend, the studio has everything you need and more, we had a delightful stay!
The location is really great—the hotel is located in the heart of the city, simply next to the gorgeous Ely Cathedral, which I could see out of my room window! The room was very clean and spacious, with a very comfortable bed. At night, it was very quiet, which is great as I am very sensitive to loud sounds. I really like the style of the hotel, so for people who like a more homelike and cosy style, this hotel is the best!
A fantastic base for visiting Ely, or just chilling out. From rooms at the back of the hotel there is a fantastic view across the fenland to Ely and the cathedral. This is a house that has been converted to a hotel and in consequence the rooms are more interesting. Grounds at the rear very pleasant for a stroll in the right weather. Superb dinner. Good breakfast.
I loved everything about this hotel and I am usually very picky. The staff provided us with everything we had asked for within minutes and without any complaints. They even gave us some milk for our toddler as we had run out and didn't have the chance to buy any. The room was clean, big and very comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.
More of a personalised experience compared to a boring hotel room.
Great cosy feel with excellent facilities.
Private parking is so convenient.
Everything you need for a couple's stay in the area.
The hosts were really friendly and easily accessible. Overall, we thoroughly recommend a stay and would definitely come again.
This is an old fashioned style hotel and I loved it but would not necessarily be everyones ideal place. Yes it needs a bit of updating in places but that was its charm. Very comfortable nights sleep, breakfast good, grounds lovely, great location. Host was great and so were his staff while he was away.
Great location for walking to shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. Ely is charming and easy to walk round.
The room was warm and the shower very good.
Luckily, we got a space in the small hotel car park because public parking is restricted to 3 hours. How to manage that in a 2-night stay???
Lovely old building, tastefully modernised but retaining unique features like the old bread oven near the bar. Very friendly and helpful staff, quickly changed our bed arrangement on arrival.
The full English breakfast was the best ever, with home made spicy black pudding to die for 😉
Castle Lodge was a basic hotel in a good location in Ely. It wasn't a great hotel, but the process reflected that. You get what you pay for and I have no complaints. Would happily go again. If you don't want to spend a lot and you're OK with just the basics, Castle Lodge is just fine.
Excellent situation close to Cathedral, shops etc
Lovely old coaching inn, clean and comfortable.
Food very good and staff pleasant and helpful. Main reason for choosing is the fact that it is dog friendly. Dogs allowed in bedrooms, bar and restaurant.
The hotel itself is lovely and is set in beautifully tended gardens. Our room was very comfortable, of a good size and had a delightful view, including the Cathedral, from the window. The food was delicious and the staff were charming.
The staff were incredible, they are supportive and helpful. Very cheerful and willing to assist. The location of the hotel was good for us as we wanted to be away from the city. Ely is a short train ride from Cambridge.
The hotel was easy to find and the check-in details were easy to follow. Our room was comfortable, modern and very clean. The range of breakfast choice was excellent and the food was fresh and nicely displayed.
Great location close to town centre, lovely spacious property, everything that you could need for a short stay is there. Generally very clean and looked after. Easy parking nearby, quiet location.
Apartment was lovely, very clean and comfy, had everything you needed Inc Netflix! Will definitely come back. Owner was really nice and even offered to drop us at the station.
