The location in this tiny craft village is just perfect to totally unwind.
No noises, no light pollution and only the sound of the sea and a beautiful view in the nightsky.
We didn't get to know the host as he was on vacation himself but it was all well organised and we found the keys as described in an email.
The interior decoration is amazing - we loved the dark, elegant, artsy aesthetics.
Not to mention the sauna. Such a nice extra after a whole day outdoors in the cool, stormy weather.

It was a luxurious homely cottage with a great location in the centre of Durness, 15-minute walk from the beach. You can see the sea from the lounge and bedroom window! The cottage has everyone you need and more! There are beautiful beaches a short drive away, our favourite being Oldshoremore - worth the trip!

Durness is an undersold part of the North West.
Durness is an undersold part of the North West. We booked two nights and could have spent a week. There is everything from local sights, day trips, hiking, golf, or just sitting back enjoying the view with a wine or a book. If you are there in Winter, Northern Lights are a distinct possibility. The local stores are small but well stocked th anything you can imagine.

Durness is a beautiful little place with amazing beaches and great facilities. There is a small but very well equipped Spa supermarket that has everything you could possibly need. Smoo Cave and Balnakeil Craft Village are both close by and lovely to visit. Would strongly recommend Sango Sands Oasis bar and restaurant for a drink and takeaway fish and chips.
There is so much to see and do in the highlands and Durness is a perfect spot from which to explore.

Durness is a welcome habitation after the journey through the bleak Highlands. The weather was quite fierce (wind & rain) but with compensatory rainbows. The seascapes were stunning. We were on a singing week so we weren't just "tourists".

Beautiful place, beaches to visit.
Beautiful place, beaches to visit. Would be heaven, stunning scenery when it's sunshine day. There are lot of crafts, arts work; many independent small shops/studio - mixing of hippy and modern. Not enough car parks when it's high season and busier. Need patience or park further up, walk down it's what holiday are about :-)
Would like be back again one day with my freinds, a member of my family or on my own.
Enjoying long driving through the countryside, mountains... Very therapy.
Be sure you filling up your car fuel before leave Durness, not quarter fuel left, saw poor one of foreigners hire car ran out of fuel...!
Fabulous house, brilliantly situated to explore the Durness coastline. Only a few minutes walk and you’re on Sango Sands – stunning and behind the house amazing views of the mountains. House was spotlessly clean with a fabulous, well equipped kitchen. We loved the lounge, dining area with super views over the fields and sea in the distance. Anna was extremely helpful and gave us some good tips on what to visit and do in the area and was always extremely prompt with her correspondence. Would definitely recommend and hope to return again.
Location close to the centre of Durness not that there is much in Durness.
Near the beach.
Tasteful decor, up together place, good heating and hot water.
Downstairs shower was great.
Well equipped kitchen.
Very nice that they left us some basic food and ingredients for the "first night. FYI there is a very good shop in Durness that has pretty much everything you would want at OK prices so don't bring it all with you support the locals!
Ample parking.
In my opinion the village Durness is a highland paradise as we kept occupied every day with surfing ,kayaking ,walking around numerous world class beaches , headlands, estuaries , dunes, lochs and sea , coloured with a wide spectrum of blue tones. We never drove more than 3 miles each day and were kept occupied all week.
The views from the old township of Ceannabeinne cliffs over the beaches below are some of the very best in Scotland.
We had a great stay at Wallaby's location was great walking distance to the beach, house was lovely clean and well equipped. Loved the extra touch of complimentary local treats.. Heads up for people unfamiliar with Durness there is a spar for shopping but about it so may want to stock up before arriving the complimentary bits really came in handy.
Beautiful location with sea views. Minutes from a wide variety of beaches and lakes on the other side of the house. Durness itself is a lovely village.
The cottage is cosy and well furnished. Ideal for a couple or small family.
There is a wood burning stove that works really well and is a great addition in the evenings.
Travelled with family and used Wallaby's as a base to explore the area. The house was warm and comfortable with a high standard of facility. We were very pleased with our choice and would recommend Wallaby's for your stay.
The location was stunning and easy to find. The premises have an old world charm and the wild garden was lovely. There is a large open dining room/comfy area. The warden was very helpful
The location was good for the NC500. There is a self service petrol pump and Spar shop in Durness, which is good for provisions. The staff are pleasant and helpful.
Excellent roomy accommodation, I was worried it might be a little chilly but it was very cosy. Wonderful kitchen/dining area and the bed was extremely comfortable.
