Good location for Alton towers. Quite a basic lodge, but it was clean and comfortable and the hot tub was an added bonus. Really good value for money.

The Bridge House Restaurant and Hotel, hotel in Croxden

Set in Alton, 3 km from Alton Towers, The Bridge House Restaurant and Hotel offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar.

The situation of the rooms is a quirky restaurant next to an inn . The garden with seating and carpark stretches down to the river with loads of outdoor seating. Drinks can be taken down from the Inn. Food at the bridge is very popular so worth booking. Food at the Inn was great, best chips ever. The room was so kitch in the best way with a huge impossibly comfy bed, full bathroom and balcony. Staff and the information pack we really helpful, we were welcomed and shown everything we needed.

The Bank House Hotel, hotel in Croxden

In the centre of Uttoxeter, this beautiful Georgian building was once the town’s first bank and now offers free parking, a bar and 17 individually decorated en suite rooms.

Breakfast was great and very quick. Fried eggs perfectly done as was everything else. Also a good size. Good bar and beer tasted clean. Bed was comfortable and very clean. Good supply of shampoo and soap and towels were plentiful as well as clean and nicely presented. TV was small but worked well. Tea, coffee, milk and biscuits were well stocked. Lots of storage around. In the hotel was reasonably quiet. Staff were helpful and friendly. Shower worked fairly well and pressure wasn't too bad. Within easy reach of all bars and restaurants in town and railway station is about a 10 minute walk. Some really nice bars in town from quiet boutique intimate establishments through to a Spoons. Easy reach to a great Italian, Mario's is quality. If you want a curry or Chinese restaurant then there are a couple within easy walking distance. There's a Costa not far away and a Bear cafe and a Starbucks near the railway station. A good Marstons, Dapple Grey, nearby and probably about a 5 to 10 minute walk with reasonable prices. If you're driving then the A50 is close by but far enough away not to hear it. Road outside is hardly used at night so no disturbance from traffic unless you are very sensitive.

Offering a garden and garden view, Abbey’s Inn is situated in Cheadle, 10 km from Alton Towers and 15 km from Trentham Gardens.

Abbey's Inn was very clean and comfortable. Abbey and her partner were very welcoming and friendly. Abbey also gave me great advice on places to go for food. I highly recommend staying there, especially if your visiting Alton towers as its only a short drive away.

35 minutes out of Stoke fabulous views across the countryside what’s not to like. Great country inn that serves quality home cooked food at good prices. Log cabins with or without a hot tub but I would recommend the hot tubs a great way to relax and chill with friends or family.

The accomadstion was an ideal location for what i wanted tp do. The cabin was quite dirty, lounge carpet and sofa bed were stained, the shower head bracket was not secured to the wall, there was a fsult with the electrics which kept tripping, a bedroom light switch was cracked.

It was lovely to have a hot tub and be able to relax in there. So convenient to have The Raddle Inn next door, where we had an evening meal on Friday and lunch on Sunday. Even though we were close to the pub it was very quiet, in the evening all we could hear were the owls. All in all we had a great time and would like to stay again in the future.

Overall, a great little place , good location for Alton towers (10min drive) . Food was good, staff were very helpful and nice, we had a bit of confusion over the hot tub as we mistakenly booked a cabin without a hot tub unfortunately! (But our mistake!) The kids loved having the bouncy castle and the play area tree in the evening (also helped them sleep😆). Cabin was lovely, clean and tidy. The kitchen and living room were great ! Bathroom was a bit basic but useable . Would we stay again?: yes !

Cabins are very clean, comfy and well equipped.

Cabins are very clean, comfy and well equipped. Kitchen very well equipped. Shower was amazing - plenty of hot water on demand as well as really good water pressure. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food in the restaurant is also really nice. Plenty of parking. You access the property via single track country roads as it is a very rural location with plenty of beautiful views. When you book remember to specify how many beds you would like made up and how many towels. The property is 4 miles away from Alton Towers theme park and it takes 12 - 15 minutes to drive there dependant on traffic.

Tucked away in the countryside with lovely views and next to a pub which serves fantastic food! Hot tub was a nice extra too (we sat in it the rain with umbrella!!) Cabin very comfortable, and warm too which we needed after a very wet day. It's fairly basic but has everything you need, can cook your own meals too. Very close to Alton Towers too. We only stayed one night but would be happy to stay longer!!😊
