The Comet London Hatfield, hotel in Codicote

Set in Hatfield and with Hatfield House reachable within 3.3 km, The Comet London Hatfield offers express check-in and check-out, non-smoking rooms, a restaurant, free WiFi and a bar.

First stay since the modern hotel accommodation has been attached to the original listed Art Deco building - made a pretty good job of it. Room was larger than expected and very comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast was okay, lots of choice although hot buffet option is never as good as freshly cooked to order. Rooms well noise insulated against traffic noise.

Quiet village with easy access to surrounding parts of the Hertfordshire countryside, and well within reach of the A1(M) whilst being distant enough so as to not hear it. Choice of pubs for lunch or evening meals, as well as drinks, and the staff at the Post Office-come-store are friendly folk.
