Very convenient to find by car, tranquil setting and good off road parking. Spacious/well appointed room, very comfortable bed and an equally spacious bathroom. Quirky decor which suited our taste..Excellent food; for dinner we opted for Greek specialities for starters and mains. The chocolate pudding/mousse was thick set and wonderfully decadent! The full cooked breakfast was equally good.

The George is a wonderful place in a lovely town and everything about staying here is a pleasure…excellent, attentive staff, food and drink and the surroundings in which to enjoy them and the magnificent chunk of very British history this lovingly maintained property offers. Location near the Burghley Estate house. Great scenery. Ample parking with easy access. Close to downtown shops and restaurants. The meals were included and the food was good. A lovely old building.
