Good food and drinks - excellent selection of menu items. I ordered from the tapas menu for dinner and had lots of options to choose from. Breakfast was great - lots of different cooked or continental items to choose from. The room was large, comfortable and had everything I needed for a business trip - a desk, plenty of outlets for the laptop, phone, etc and plenty of room to spread out and relax after work. This would be a good stop for exploring the area when not at work, plenty of parking and close to local attractions.

Perfect country pub in an out-of-the-way village, with friendly and efficient staff, a large comfortable room, lots of space to relax downstairs, and delicious food in the restaurant
We loved our stay at The Old Rectory Chicklade. The house and garden are beautiful, and incredibly peaceful and calming considering that the A303 is so close! The rooms were very clean and comfortable, fitted with everything we needed. Complimentary coffee/tea/biscuits were a nice touch. Breakfast was delicious, with many options on the menu to suit all tastes and dietary requirements. Last, but certainly not least, the best thing: the hosts Tim & Helen are wonderful! Thank you for a great experience! We hope to be back one day.
The house is gorgeous and Tim and Helen were just the loveliest people. the breakfast was amazing and we really loved the homemade marmalade so we bought a jar to donate for Ukraine and to enjoy at home. Everything in Wiltshire is 20-30 min away in the car and so much better than to stay at a big hotel with tons of people if you want to visit Stonehenge or the Old Wardour Castle.
The owner was very kind and let us charge our electric car, which was a real bonus.
It was maybe our mistake, but we thought it was a hotel and we could get an evening meal, but we enjoyed our walk to the local hotel, where we got a great meal. I could not fault the stay ,other than the price seemed to be more like a 4 star hotel price.
Breakfast was delightful in a relaxed setting. We did not feel out of place or intimidated, something that can happen at hotel stays in the past. We have already booked out next visit in October!
We have just come back from a lovely 5 night stay at the Old Rectory, Chicklade. The hosts were very helpful, facilities very good, a lovely breakfast, will definitely visit again.
