It’s winter so much of the town is closed however for hikers and the like, it’s an excellent time to visit. In the summer, Charmouth can be very busy, especially the beach., but iconic beach, beautiful setting.

We stopped for a week and I could definitely have stayed longer, money allowing. I really like Charmouth. We went the first time probably 10 years ago and wanted to go back. I was not disappointed. I only went for fossil collecting, and came back very happy.

    Wonderful beach for fossil hunting.

Wonderful beach for fossil hunting. Make sure you visit the discovery centre on the beach to check out tips on fossil hunting. Staff are very helpful. Charmouth is very small with 2 great pubs and a fish and chip shop so evening meals are limited . Bookings needed for The Royal Oak, but we'll worth it. The George equally great for a relaxed meal.

We went for the fossils so although it was the wrong time of year the process of looking was satisfactory and we had booked a fossil your with Lyme Regis museum which was very good. Depending on the tides you can walk along the beaches easily and walk from Charmouth to Lyme Reis easily.

On a sunny day, you would not want to be anywhere else!

On a sunny day, you would not want to be anywhere else! The sea is shallow and warm. You can walk along the coast, paddling most of the way , to Lyme Regis. There are also many inland footpaths. In the village itself there are a couple of lovely cafes and a couple of pubs. A lovely place to visit.

We didnt use any facilities other than the Toilet and Showers, these were kept nice and clean. Location is nice and quiet and good for long walks. We walked into Charmouth Village and along the coast to Seatown for lunch and back, a pleasant 12 mile round trip. Hilly as expected, on previous visits we have walked to Lyme Regis through the golf course and got the bus back. Pods are nicely spaced with a level of privacy from neighbours.

The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the original artwork. The owner provided a fan when requested and it helped on the days when it was hot and humid outside. The owner thought of everything a traveler might need. The Jurassic Coast bus comes every hour and provides comfortable transportation from Charmouth, to Lyme Regis and beyond. It stops at Fernhill Hotel which is on the same property.

Everything we needed and more was provided, from cleaning items to towels, bedding, hair dryer etc. The location was ideal, very quiet and peaceful, a nice little retreat. Local bus service nearby. Not too far to drive to The lovely Bridport and Lyme Regis .The beach at Charmouth is great for fossil hunting. Really, spoiled for choice. Would most certainly visit Popple's Nook again and thoroughly recommend.

Warm and cosy, perfect after a day of fossil hunting at the local beach. Had everything we needed and was in a perfect location. The shower was lovely, was great having the ensuite toilet in the main bedroom. Everything was clean and organised. A short drive to Charmouth and Lyme Regis. Lovely places to eat out at Lyme Regis and also a handy local store to get any bits you need.

The hosts were friendly, we loved the view, the space was well appointed, the food provided for breakfast was plentiful, there was a good pub nearby, close to the bus stop for travel to Lyme Regis rather than taking the car, and it was wonderful to have such a private space after hotels and inns. We enjoyed relaxing here...the best so far after two weeks of travelling.

The location so near to Charmouth beach where you could hear the sea from the accommodation was by far the best attraction. Fossil hunting with the heritage centre close by with lovely staff was great too. The beach offers so much ...safe sandy beach areas for swimming ....rock pools and of course ammonites and belamites !

Ours was a fossil-hunting trip, therefore the location was perfect, only a few minutes walk from Charmouth shore. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, eggs always fresh and locally smoked kippers are stunning. Our room was not big but spotlessly clean and the wifi and the TV worked well.

Gorgeous Granny Flat was perfect for me (Gorgeous Granny) and two of my grandchildren to stay. We went fossil hunting and paddling on Charmouth Beach and the girls played in the sheltered garden. They loved their upstairs loft bedroom. I liked the quiet and privacy, and everything worked.
