A great experience and great time. Clean. Fun. More than just a hotel. The spa was amazing. The seating was sublime. Staff were a cut above what you would expect.

Food good and room lovely. But we won't be staying there again due to service. The grounds are well kept but it is all part of a holiday home complex (lots of dogs barking) and they use the Spa as their local swimming baths. We did have a massage which was really nice.

The breakfast was wonderful . We also had a fabulous dinner there! The room was small but very clean and comfortable. We knew we had rented a smaller room.

A delightful, picturesque little village with walks along the river to either Grassington or Appletreewick. There is a large car park which probably gets very busy in the holiday season. Although there are limited facilities in the village itself, it is a great centre to explore the surrounding countryside. The Red Lion, in the centre of the village, serves drinks, bar meals and has a formal restaurant for evening meals, which I can recommend highly.

Do not stay in an annex room as these have not been updated.
Do not stay in an annex room as these have not been updated. I was told that the rest of the hotel had been but did not see any other room. I would not recommend the food as our took 1-1/2 hours (burger and fish and chips) We were forgotten about and told that it was a very busy night. Food was inedible. Staff didn't really seem to be bothered that we waited. When I complained the next day to the manager I was told Chef had accident in kitchen so everything was behind. Too little too late. Our room was not cleaned and again told new staff who were in training.

Burnsall is a very pretty village on the river Wharfe.
Burnsall is a very pretty village on the river Wharfe. Hours can be spent just relaxing watching the weather move over the landscape.
There is a good dog friendly pub and there are cafes. Parking can be an issue unless you park on the grass by the river which is charged at a reasonable rate.
There are plenty of walks in the area. It is easy to walk into the Bolton Abbey estate and also to Grassington. Wifi in the area is pretty good for somewhere so rural.

The Yorkshire Dales are stunning and we did not have enough time to explore properly. Fantastic area for a walking holiday but not in 30 degree heat!! We will be back to visit more places when it is cooler.
Burnsall itself is a charming, picture postcard village with a great hotel, tearooms and a pub. Oh, and a river.

Dales village, with loads of walks and a bus service. The river is great for children to play in. There is a field to park in with toilets on it but the owner charges the rather extortionate price of £8 for the privilege.
I had all I needed at the Red Lion but the cafe and ice cream shop looked lovely.
Location absolutely stunning with lots of beautiful walks using the hotel as a starting point. We ate in the restaurant on our first night - the food was amazing, neither me or my partner could remember enjoying a meal as much in a while (although quite pricey!). Room very comfortable with very well stocked beverage tray. We slept amazingly and felt very well looked after the whole weekend. Staff all friendly and happy to help. Would thoroughly recommend.
We enjoyed the quirky nature of the hotel, the sloping floors and staircase and the many rooms branching off in various directions.
The breakfast was enjoyable with plenty of choice.
Our room had a sofa which we thought was unnecessary, a table for our kettle, cups and tea/coffees would have been better, because these were balanced on the window ledge, with the cold wind blowing through the single glazed windows.
Staff were professional and friendly.
The location is excellent as it has a great view of the river and the fells. One can take a walk and enjoy these sights. There is a lovely tea room off hotel property you can go to should you wish. The room we had was cozy and warm, very comfortable bed. The restaurant was lovely and the food was very good. There is also a lounge you can stay in and play board games or just keep warm. Parking was adequate and free.
What a weekend! Walking around the Burnsall area in shunshine, celebrating our anniversary. A wonderful room, so clean, bathroom was amazing. Dinner to celebrate, food was delicious. Bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was so good, loved the granola and the cooked was one of the best cook breakfasts I’ve ever had!
The staff were very friendly and helpful
The weekend couldn’t have been better
Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. The food is excellent, the beds are comfortable and staff very accommodating, they even have dog mattresses to borrow in the bar. Don't be put off by the 2 star rating, it's a hangover from the previous owners. The new owners are working really hard to improve it and they're doing a great job!
This is a truly magical place. The setting is paradise. You sense the history of this 16th century pub while also appreciating the attention to details and refurbishments that are happening. The food is some of the best you’ll have. The staff exceptional. I can’t speak highly enough of this place.
Excellent friendly, professional staff makes the Devonshire Fell . The rooms are comfortable and functional .
Basic dinner menu but very enjoyable . Breakfast was excellent . A great job of Covid compliance . Tried to rebook but the hotel is full in the days we want …we are not surprised .
The food was excellent as was the location and the hotel setting. However although we booked bed and breakfast, we also had dinner in the evenings. When all was added together the cost above £200 per night, which for the facilities on offer was in our view a little on the high side.
The staff, location and views were brilliant. The beds were comfortable. The window seat was fabulous. We stayed in a cottage and it was wonderful that a delicious top notch breakfast in the hotel was included.
Great central location in the village. Cottage was full of character. Liked there was space for people to go into different rooms. Comfortable beds, plenty of clean linen/towels.
The location, the quality of the room and hotel building, the friendliness of the staff, the helpfulness with catering for dogs and the freedom to bring the dog at all meals,
