Holiday Inn Express Exeter East, an IHG Hotel, hotel in Broadclyst

The contemporary Holiday Inn Express Exeter East offers great value accommodation with inclusive breakfast and free WiFi, all in a convenient location to explore the beautiful countryside of Devon.

The staff very nice and welcoming. Great hotel has a carpark. The breakfast wasn't hot, hot, hot by the time you seat down to eat, but it was nice. The restaurant near by was good to have, as we came back late and thought, lets check it out so we didn't have to go back into town for dinner. The Hotel is close to the motorway so easy get away when checked out.

The St George and Dragon by Innkeeper's Collection, hotel in Broadclyst

Surrounded by farms and historic buildings, Innkeeper's Lodge Exeter is a 19th-century lodge set in the pretty village of Clyst St George.

We had two rooms, my wife and myself plus two friends, and we were primarily staying in this area as we were going to Sandy Park for the Exeter Chiefs vs Harlequins Rugby match, which was just a 10 min taxi ride. So my wife did some research and Topsham seemed a perfect location and good reviews on Booking.com. Well the location was excellent, it was about 2 mile walk to Topsham (or No. 57 bus), to a stunning village by the estuary. Some lovely riverside pubs (one by a big Antiques place), plus a very nice walk called the "Goat Walk" past the RSPB hide which leads down to a riverside walk and probably the best Indian restaurant meal we have ever had at "Denley's Essence of India". On the Saturday we also took in the Pebblebed Vinyard 2 hrs Tour. The George and Dragon, was a charming "olde" type pub, with modern rooms extending off the side and back. Lovely bar area and a nice garden to the rear with loads of tables. The staff were so friendly, the check-in was painless and quick (done online ahead of time) and the rooms were clean, practical, not huge, but everything you would expect, nice cubicle shower, bed a little on the firm side but with a nice view over the surrounding area. Breakfast was not including in our room bookings, however it uses the restaurant area, nicely laid out and was orderable via a menu on the day. Eggs benedict was superb, and the Full English was a whopper (with delicious sausages and cherry Toms on the vine (nice touch). I can only imagine that the restaurant food is also as good as it looked. We will be coming here again, for next Chiefs vs Quins match and may even use it is an overnight when traveling to Cornwall. You also must drop into the Darts Farm shop just a few hundred yards down the road, but be prepared to spend more than you first thought, just looks (food and drink) stunningly laid out, the mature cheddar cheese especially nice.

We were travelling on the M5 from the North and failed to find any signposts for Broadclyst. This caused some confusion. However we noticed when travelling from Exeter northwards there were several....! It did exist...! We were staying in Broadclyst only because it was convenient for visiting family near Ottery St Mary. So we can make no recommendations. Our only impression being that signposting needs a review....

The property was ideal for a couple/single traveller on a short break. Would also be ideal for the business traveller who prefers peace and quiet rather than the standard hotel groups. It is a little out of the way but we found it easily with SatNav

Amazing Amazing Amazing. Clean, friendly, beautiful location. Will be returning. I was just for a room for the night. What I got was a self contained flat with every in it. What a place. Better than any hotel I’ve stayed in. Just amazing.

A very clean and great space to relax in with nice country views from every window. Everything required to cater for a week's stay is available. The apartment is decorated well and has subtle accessories. A good shower. Towards Broadclyst on the LHS is a farm shop with great value and quality produce.
