Location is fantastic. We stayed in one of the cottages as we booked a family room. Breakfast was lovely. It was very busy but our breakfast was cooked fresh and we didn't have to wait that long. Excellent value for money. Also free parking.

Brecon isn’t a big place so everywhere in the village is within walking distance. Christine is fantastic. She’ll help you with anything you need.
The room was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed.
Breakfasts were fantastic.
Lovely picturesque town, plenty of shops etc
Down side absolutely shockingly no transport!!!
You have to get a cab and that was almost impossible, they really need to improve transport links, I had to book a cab from abergavenny which cost a small fortune just to be able to catch train home.
It's better if you drive

From the town with independent shops to the breathtaking walks this is a lovely place to spend some time to take in the Welsh scenery. There is plenty of parking and places to stay and prices are reasonable. The museums and community centres are not to be missed.

Our visit to Brecon was to meet friends and celebrate a milestone birthday. We had a fantastic bit short trip and regretted not having more time to explore the town more as well as the local countryside.

Spent two whole days sightseeing in brecon itself.
Spent two whole days sightseeing in brecon itself. Other days went out to visit, wales ape and monkey sanctuary, Henrhyd waterfalls were well worth the walk down the shale track, visited Blaenavon mining museum and visited Aberfan. Each route had ideal motorcycling road and spectacular countryside views. There are also other places to visit but did not have time to visit them all. Would recommend the area for views and for walkers, lovely spots for picnics. Absulutely fantastic

The hotel was clean neat and tidy. The people on reception were polite & courteous. The restaurant food was good.
There is no service between lunch and dinner - so it means a trip out if you need a snack.
I was using the hotel as a half way stop so didn’t explore the area.. sorry.

The cathedral was well worth a visit- and the cafe/lunch place was lovely with good quality food.
It’s a lovely town with a lot of character and good places to eat and drink.
The surrounding area is stunning. For those wanting to go up Pen y Fan and other peaks, Brecon is a perfect base.
I will be going back for sure!
Hotel situated right near brecon town , 5-10mins walk. The canal is about 15mins walk , 5mins in car.
Lots of car parks around this area too. The location is quiet during the morning, there is a church bell nearby, but I didn't hear it go during the morning and i didn't hear it after 7/8pm the night before.
The restaurant is a lovely , well decorated area with a nice menu. Only 1 main option for vegetarian, but it was nice.
Staff were friendly and happy to help.
We loved our 2 days staying at the town house at Brecon . The house was beautiful and our room was tastefully decorated with lovely furnishings.
The bed was comfortable and the bed linen was top quality . The bathroom was clean with a lovely shower and nice products . Tea and coffee facilities in the room .
Delicious breakfast served with plenty of choice .The hotel owner was lovely and made us feel very welcome we will definitely be staying there again
This Inn has the perfect location for discovering Brecon Beacons. It is very conveniently located, making it easy to access hikes, to visit local restaurants and pubs. But what stood out the most is the hospitality received from Gail; throughout our stay, she went above and beyond to help make our stay perfect. She has such a fantastic energy and it made our experience in Wales unforgettable. Thank you!
An exceptional guest house in a perfect location in Brecon. Very comfortable and well appointed. The attention to detail is impressive - for example the milk kept in the fridge for tea/coffee. The hosts were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and the use of pre-ordering meant you got exactly what you wanted freshly cooked. Parking close to the town centre was a bonus.
We had the greatest time at the Griffin Llyswen. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay, from the amazing scenery to the town of Brecon itself. We looked forward to going back to our haven at the Griffin at the end of the day. The restaurant was excellent, the pub was clean and the staff were excellent. We will be going back there again in the future, of that there is no doubt.
- Very spacious accommodation, with a large lounge / dining area, two good sized bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen and two bathrooms
- Host was helpful and friendly, and set us up well for the start of the weekend with breakfast food and snacks
- Located right by the river, easy walk to explore Brecon and easy drive or bus or explore the Brecon Beacons
- Pet friendly
Owners could not have done anymore, she was extremely friendly to all guests, nothing was too much trouble.
Very dog friendly allowed in all areas of the inn.
Brilliant breakfast catering for all needs, as I am vegan I had a good choice of for the hot breakfast.
A simple but decent pub food menu, good pitstop before carrying on to our other destination
David and Co were fantastic. We were made to feel very welcome when we arrived, nothing was too much trouble when we asked for something. Breakfast is excellent, the location of the hotel is great for getting into town and out into the Brecon Beacons.
I am already planning another trip to the area and will use Castle Farm Guest House again.
I know Brecon very well and have stayed in a couple of the other hotels in town. But I chose to stay there while I visited family.
The room was clean, quiet and had a lovely bathroom. It's central to town and despite it being part of the pub's complex - it wasn't noisy, (although I stayed mid week).
Excellent location with beautiful views. A short walk downhill to town. Accommodation was extremely well furnished and clean. We had the best bedroom we'd ever had on a weekend break. The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly and the breakfast was excellent and plenty of choice.
Pete was very nice and friendly and cooked an excellent breakfast for us in the morning with vegan pancake. He was also very helpful for us in planning our walk up Pen Y Fan. The house is a short walk to town centre and 20 minutes drive to Pen Y Fan car park. Very good shower.
The hotel and the staff are very welcoming, and they are dog friendly. This is my second time staying at the Wellington and I will go back whenever I get the chance. The restaurant is good and the food is what I would expect from a Marston franchise.
I’ve known the Wellington hotel for years since a kid , I’ve left one of my shoes there it’s convenient for the town centre , ps could you contact the Hotel about my shoe left there I was in room 7 29/3/22 -31 /3/22 phone no 07880768024
The Longhouse at Hilltops Cottages was an absolutely perfect place for us (2 couples) to stay and explore the Brecon area. Wonderful location just outside of Brecon town. Spacious, well equipped, clean and quite cozy.
Value for money - cheapest pints of Ruddles Ale I've had in a long time!
Room was comfortable but small.
Well-restored historic building.
Close to town center.
