ibis Edinburgh Centre South Bridge – Royal Mile, hotel in Bonnyrigg

A 5-minute walk from Waverley Train Station, ibis Edinburgh Centre South Bridge – Royal Mile provides centrally located accommodation in the Old Town.

Location was excellent. Breakfast was unfortunate. No seating, several items were not restocked in timely fashion, food was generally institutional in taste. For the cost it was not good value.

excellent staff very friendly and always ready to help, good room, there is a coffee machine in the room. Convenient parking. Special thanks to Aurora, she was super friendly at the front desk, helped us with our suitcases and we left before breakfast and she made sure we had something to eat in the morning, it's very thoughtful and such service is appreciated. Ten Hill Place, hotel in Bonnyrigg

Just 0.5 miles from Edinburgh Waverley Rail Station, this 4-star Ten Hill Place, WorldHotels Distinctive is owned by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and offers free WiFi.

Perfect location for our trip as we were seeing a show at the Festival Theatre. Room was great, though they said we'd been upbraded to a superior with a kingsize bed, yet the bed was still a double. Breakfast was lovely, though it took forever to be served with coffee, after a couple of reminders.

Good quiet location but not much in Bonnyrigg or the surrounding towns. Handy for Edinburgh and Lothian coastal resorts. For us must see was nearby Roslin Chapel. Only nuisance was traffic on bypass at the nearest junctions.

It’s a castle! Plus it’s also where we got married in 2008 so it has a very special place in our hearts. We were back visiting on our 13th wedding anniversary and having told the hotel this they arranged a card, bottle of champagne in the room and a great table for dinner. We stayed in the lodge for the first time. Big suite and very comfortable - a little hot but it was 28 degrees in Scotland so to be expected. Dinner in the dungeon was excellent with great food and wine. We also had a couple of hours relaxing in the spa.

We booked for 1 night at the Castle and we were really looking forward to it, only to find out that the restaurant at the hotel was 'fully booked'. They said the orangery was not in function at evening and the dungeon was too small to feed everyone at the hotel!! Disgrace, if you cannot accommodate dinner for all guest you should not offer any hotel rooms. This place is middle of nowhere and you shouldn't have to book in advance to eat at the hotel restaurant. Spa dated dated and not very hot water in pool or sauna.

The hotel is an excellent combination between a historical building and spa service. It is a beautiful place to go and disconnect for a weekend near Edinburgh. The orangery restaurant has an excellent selection of food and drink; if they know in advance, they adapt to your food requirements. The spa is small but offers a good range of offers. Finally the have a hidden gem, the library if you have time try to take tea or a drink there!!!!

Good suite, comfortable room. Atmospheric historic building with creaky stairs and rambling corridors, old-style furnishings. High quality dining experience in a unique dungeon setting. Good range of breakfast choices in the light Orangerie with views across the pasture and woods. Very polite and helpful staff. Lovely location with long woodland walks. Easy to get to Edinburgh by park and ride or train.

The castle was beautiful, location near Edinburgh perfect for our car trip around Scotland. We had a beautiful, large bedroom in the tower which was beyond expectations! We had our dinner in the dungeon, a wonderful experience, the food was 5 star as was the service. Breakfast in the Orangerie topped off an absolutely perfect stay!

The grounds and the hotel itself are beautiful. The entire outside is picturesque. The staff was helpful. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The rooms in the castle are beautiful, the dungeon restaurant is super cool and the food overall was very good. The free spa is nice, but can get crowded. Close enough to city center.
