Loved the history, the location behind the old railway, and the little park in front. Also, the bathrooms were updated, and there were plenty of USB outlets.
Located in the small village of Boat of Garten, The Boat House Guest house offers free WiFi access and free on-site parking.

It was very cosy. The kitchen was well-equipped and the bedrooms were lovely. It was too cold to sit on the balcony but it was nice to look out all the same.

I can't recommend the Delrachney Lodge enough. Our room was lovely, our hosts were charming and caring, and the breakfast was amazing. On to of that, they were so concerned about us that one night when getting dinner out would be difficult they made special arrangements for us and gave us a delicious dinner at the Lodge, where they normally do not serve dinner. We will be back without question. Thanks Steve and Tracy for a great experience.

Boat of Garten is a great little village with all the necessaries. The post office/village shop has some excellent fare on offer. Anderson's restaurant and the Boat Hotel are well worth a visit. The EV chargers at the village hall are very convenient and the village is surrounded by a variety of well maintained and signed forest paths to suit all abilities.

If you like being outdoors it is perfect.
If you like being outdoors it is perfect. Loch Garten is the perfect tonic for anyone tired of city life, it was so beautiful and peaceful there.
Of course Aviemore is close if you want skiing in season and perhaps some night life.
Grantown on Spey was lovely and more forest nearby in Anagach Woods.
Lots of Neolithic sites near Grantown too.
Nethy Bridge was lovely, surrounded by forest.

Beautiful location and only a short drive to Aviemore. We took the train to Inverness for the day and had a beautiful meal in a restaurant there. Easy to get to the shops and supermarkets in Aviemore itself.

This was a beautiful place to stay, we had a gorgeous room (101), super friendly and helpful staff (Muir was lovely, I didn't get the names of everyone else, but both the women on reception, the guy on the bar, Thomas from the kitchen who gave us tips for a beautiful walk, and the woman in the restaurant with a mandala were all wonderful, very accommodating, really cheerful, and we had some great chats with everyone too).
Views straight out to the mountains and the steam train, the food was lovely, very tasty, good portions, plenty of choice, and honestly the fastest I've ever known food to arrive from any restaurant ever! We had a couple of cocktails too and again they were delicious.
The room was warm and comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean.
The hostess has thought of everything! We had a welcome basket when we arrived and the caravan was lovely and homely - an extremely well equipped kitchen, comfortable living area with great TV and really good wifi, and comfy bedroom. The outdoor area was great for sitting out to eat and just take in the view and parking was right outside. We looked on to an expanse of green fields which was lovely and peaceful. Although Boat of Garten is quiet, the location is well-placed for Aviemore and other attractions if you have transport.
Boat of Garten is a beautiful place. I stayed @ another lodge in January, with family for my 60th & everyone loved it.(Highland Hideouts, highly recommend company) So we decided to return for another family members 60th birthday. Unfortunately we couldn't all have the same lodge as it was fully booked. The setting for Red Squirrel Lodge was lovely, the lodge layout was excellent, but let down by standard of cleaning & Maintenance etc.? Wear & tear of interior needs some attention.
The location in Boat of Garten is excellent if you want to do any walking or similar outdoor activity as there are plenty of opportunities and busier places like Aviemore are within range. The heritage steam line runs between the two so another attraction for some. The owner has a lot of experience in winter activities so worth chatting to if that is your thing. Breakfast was very good as well.
We loved the cottage and it's location was ideal; we felt we were miles from anywhere in a peaceful forest, yet we were only a short distance from Boat of Garten. Forest tracks galore are just beyond the garden gate. The dog proof garden was a delight; loads of wildlife to see and even garden lights to make the evenings magical. Our host was extremely helpful and attentive. We'll be back!
Lovely accommodation, very clean and comfortable on a nice quiet site.
Good location with plenty of walks on your doorstep
A 5min walk to village centre, village shop and the Boat Inn and Restaurant, Anderson's restaurant worth a visit too.
Welcome basket with tea, coffee and mini chocolate bars, but plenty more items in cupboards for you to use.
The room was very good, apart from a very musty smell which we put down to the hotel having been closed for so long as a result of Covid. It was large, well decorated with all the facilities we would expect for the price paid. The staff were very friendly, and helpful.
Difficult to find this size of property for our group of 8 lady golfers with plenty generously sized twin rooms. Not far out from Boat of Garten and 300yds from main road to go north or south to Aviemore or Grantown. Loved it. We hope to book again for next year.
Lovely stay in Boat of Garten. Easy drive to the property, and quick walk to the closest restaurant! The room was well equipped, quiet and clean, the bed was cozy and some home bakes were waiting for us on arrival. Great breakfast and lovely hosts.
Very clean and comfortable caravan. Beautiful view from the living room and large decking area. Adequate parking spot right on the doorstep. Peaceful and beautiful area..Boat of Garten village is such a beautiful little place. Highly recommended.
absolutely wonderful stay, the staff was beyond helpful and welcoming. they let us store our bikes in their secure storage room and always welcomed us with warm smiles. food at the restaurant was great and the atmosphere of the hotel was lovely.
The location is brilliant, close to aviemore and surrounding areas. Close to Landmark which the kids loved. Lovely walk through the woods in Boat of Garten. Loch Morlich was a short car journey.
The kitchen in the chalet was well equipped.
It was amazing ! The chalet was gorgeous, extremely clean, tidy and modern. We were left a lovely welcome pack. The hosts were easy to contact when we required assistance getting the keys. I would 100% recommend this property to anyone !
Garden room with deck was very nice. We took our bikes on the train to Aviemore for dinner, and then rode home through the popping heather... a beautiful ride. The vintage train was a great experience. Very good breakfast.
The hotel is located very nicely at the old station, where a couple of times per week an old steam train is passing by. The personel at the hotel was very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the food at the restaurant.
It was perfect for a family with one child, fully equipped with everything for travel, very clean, spacious and pleasant. Great location just a short drive from Aviemore and other places of interest in the Cairngorms.
Comfortable bed, good sized room. Friendly staff and nice breakfast. Parking on site as well.
Great location with lovely walks nearby, as well as close to the pub/restaurant and post office shop.
Excellent property just outside Aviemore. Fantastic for a family. Absolutely spotlessly clean and owner very helpful with information before arrival. Will definitely book again.
