Room was very nice. The breakfast was excellent. Not enough loungers by the swimming pool. No one on duty in the spa

The room was perfect. More amenities than we expected. Layout was perfect for a family. Kids had their own bedroom, parents closer to the locked door.
Pub downstairs was lovely, we had a quick drink before bed. Great train connections to London. Short drive to HP studios. The lady serving breakfast was really helpful with local knowledge and suggestions of where to take children in London.
We've booked again for next year.

Not a stranger to Berko, born and bred.
All antique shops and estate agents when I was growing up now full of restaurants and coffee shops which is very nice when visiting. Canal side pubs great.
Castle worth a visit.

Comfy beds was only plus, room cross between caller and prison cell Windows ceiling height Not as clean as it should have been , especially in today's Covid times, cobwebs are clue to room not being properly, breakfast tepid first morning, but much better second morning definitely, not as high end as advertised, parking poor,

I love Berkhamsted.
I love Berkhamsted. Went with my friends couple of years ago and we shopped, had lunch and went to the Rex cinema which is great. Went with my husband a couple of weeks ago and did shopping, dinner and Rex cinema. The hotel location is great. We managed to get in the hotel car park which is off the Waitrose car park. Not sure of the parking costs if hotel car park was full. There are plenty of places to eat and drink and some lovely shops, my favourite being The Forge Boutique. The place isn't massive but would recommend for a one night stay and trip to the Rex.

Lovely individual shops to browse, good choice of restaurants and eateries, in addition to the branch of Waitrose and M&s food hall. The town had a welcoming feel, and the appearance of some Christmas decorations although a little early did enhance the town. Lovely Saturday market too.

A compact town with many interesting and varied shops.
A compact town with many interesting and varied shops. There were also plenty of options for coffee or alcohol, which was also important! A walk along the canal is always amazing, with plenty of wildlife.

I came to visit family who live in Berkhamsted and wanted to be central. It’s a lovely little market town with lots of interesting shops that are within walking distance as well as lots of coffee shops to stop in.
We ate in the hotel one evening and the food was fresh and well prepared with very attentive ,friendly staff.
I loved the charity shops( we don’t have them in SA) also the antique shops and restaurant
We also ate in an Italian restaurant “Ask” I think was the name and had a great meal . Very child friendly and authentic
Second time of staying at this hotel, just for one night this time. I was on the ground floor in a twin room which was an acceptable size with the facilities i needed, hairdryer for example. The location of this hotel is great being on Berkhamsted High Street a short walk from the station. 20% on food at the sister hotel The King Arms. Very good breakfast cooked to order. Had a lovely meal in the evening, very well looked after with my father in law. Food Intolerances well understood and catered for.
The man on reception was friendly and helpful with some issues we had on arrival, he allowed us to get into the room (something we had actually pre-requested, but communication between booking and the hotel wasn't great) we were given clear instructions of how to get around town and given a shortcut to the station which bypasses the town centre.
The hotel is well located with one of the best breakfasts I have ever had in my life. The facilities in bathroom require update in standard room, the room was clean though and everything you might need for a 1-2 nights stay was there, overall - very good.
The hotel is on the main high street in Berkhamsted and so convenient. The staff were very nice and the bed was comfortable and the bathroom a really good size. Breakfast was excellent, really good choice and the food was great.
We didn't have breakfast, we were very pleased with the accommodation very clean, quiet and a comfortable bed. Staff very helpful will certainly book the hotel again.
I had my lunch in the restaurant. The soup & pasta was great. The staff were all friendly & helpful.
Nice hotel with good food. Wonderful staying. I will be back.
Lovely, individual room, very comfy bed, not too small, bathroom with huge shower. The place is hard to find from the High Street, but it's super quiet!
