The location was gorgeous. Absolutely beautiful. The house was so comfy and every need was thought of.
Gorgeous farmhouse off the beaten path. It’s a bit of a drive from the city center, but that wasn’t an issue for me. I enjoy the peacefulness the countryside offers. The house is surrounded by nature. Including the cows and sheep that graze the land. The owner is friendly and accommodating. House is extremely clean and the breakfast was great. Highly recommend.

Balmacara square has a cafe, deli and interiors/ gift shop...
Balmacara square has a cafe, deli and interiors/ gift shop but in truth is not particularly exciting. Ashley distance away is the beach road with a Spar shop and a hotel/restaurant. Kyle of Lochalsh just 3 miles away had a small number of shops and cafes but it's not particularly exciting. Visit Plockton for good eating places and scenic views. Also visit the crofting village of Duirnish and see the highland cattle roaming freely throughout the village.
We enjoyed the scenery and activities in the mainland more than on in Skye, which is busy and rather overrated. Portree, the capital was a particular let down. Try a trip to Glenelg. These is a cafe, pub and shop in the village. I'm route there stop at the viewpoint to see the Five Sisters.
Location.
Facilities, especially the easy to work radiators.
Cleanliness.
Sea breeze, so only midges once during the week.
The fish & chip van that parked outside on Thursday, the food was fantastic.
The well stocked local shop and nice hotel (though they would not take dinner bookings during our stay, we could only use the bar for a drink).
The location is spectacular, the accommodation comfortable and wonderfully private. Extras, including supply of foodstuffs and toiletries gave this tiny cabin a hotel level of luxury.
