Travelling the NC500, this was one of the best hotels and well worth the price. Disappointed the restaurant was not open in the evening but the breakfast was delicious. The staff were welcoming and helpful, overall a lovely place to stay.

    Very quiet place.

Very quiet place. The hotel is still open not shut like many others else-where. Balintore is good for a walk-about with rocky and sandy beaches. Big harbour with excellent traditional, spit on the floor (almost) pub. Fossils can be found on the rocks. Small supermarket with most provisions and a modern village hall with coffee/small food served. Great place to visit and not far from Distilleries and a good base to visit the North of Scotland etc.

Balintore is on of three seaboard villages which over the years have joined together so that you can barely see the borders between them. The beach is beautiful and clean and is not at all crowded even on the sunniest of days. You can go for walks and there are lots of historical sites in the area. 45 minutes drive to the south is the beautiful city of Inverness and the Caledonian Canal and there are lots of golf courses in the area if that's youre thing. Really I could go on and on so you wont be short of things to do.
