I was traveling with my 82 year old father and we had originally made reservations for one night. Before we traveled to Axbridge we had to rearrange our trip and I called Graham to ask if we could extend our stay by 2 nights. He was so accommodating and gracious to our needs. When we arrived he could not have been more welcoming and helpful with our bags. I loved the design and comfort of the inn. The full English breakfast was delicious and there is a nice assortment of delicious jams and jellies for toast. There is one pub directly across the road and more in Axbridge. Thank you Graham and your team for your superior customer service and friendliness. I am not finished exploring Glastonbury but if I make it back from the States I’ll definitely stay there.

We didn't expect it to be a motel with very basic facilities, so the only thing I can put in "like" section is probably ease of finding it. It served the purpose thought, for one night.

That was one of the best experience I ever had - Kind people, amazing breakfast and well tasting beer. If you are near Cheddar - this is the place to stay!

I was warmly greeted and shown to my room. The room is absolutely lovely. They provided many extras. I had Prosecco and an IPA waiting for me when I arrived. The bed is fabulous. The shower was good water pressure and very warm. The linens were very plush and towels huge. There was tea, coffee, hot chocolate provided. I ate dinner there and had a wonderful dining experience. Andrew fixed me a bag of food items for the early departure since I would miss breakfast. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. I would caution that if you’re a very light sleeper, there are some sounds that might wake you. The cars leaving might be the loudest but they are gone, but I was there when a very large dinner party was happening. I will definitely go there again. It was only a 10 minute drive (easy drive for an American) back to the car rental return. Then a bus to the airport.

Good size bathroom, sleeping area and well organized eating place. The cottage was clean and quiet modern. Nice location. They accept dogs, but place do not have a safe place to go for walk with dog, very close to busy road.

The village was quiet and peaceful. The hotel was terrible the TV didn’t work the drains were blocked in the shower and hand basin, the corridors smelled of dogs. The continental breakfast was a joke. When I complained to the manager he said he would give me a refund but I still haven’t received it. I have emailed the hotel and left numerous messages but they never responded to any calls this is very unprofessional the least any good management team can do is reply to a complaint.

Lovely flat in great location , very easy to find and enter property (slight musty smell on entering the flat - but not too bad ! ) . Stairs leading to first floor with open plan kitchen/lounge/diner ,double bedroom and a cupboard with board games , ironing board, cleaning stuff , spare toilet rolls etc Well equipped kitchen , new utensils and coffee machine with pods etc. stairs to second floor with modern bathroom and second bedroom ( twin beds ) , and en-suite - a little dated , . Bedroom has door leading to roof terrace which we didn’t use only because after being out all day it was dark when we got back , but is a nice addition to the flat .
The Lamb pub over the road is excellent, lovely food and ambience and whilst we heard noise/ chatter one evening from the pub we had our windows wide open , everyone was sitting outside ( warm evening ) and we didn’t have the TV on, so perhaps that is why . We didn’t find it a problem -
Places to visit :-
Clevedon- Victorian seaside town , away from hustle &bustle
Mells , really pretty , small walled garden, fab pub Port Talbot - need to book 2 weeks in advance if you want Sunday lunch !
Wedmore - if passing through, again small but pretty village
Wells , Glastonbury, Cheddar
We are carboot fans so if this is your thing BASC Rugby club at Berrow/ Burnham on Sea
Saturdays 12pm
Cheddar - Sundays , need to get that at 6..30am if you want to get the bargains !!
Overall we found everything to be very positive about the flat and excellent value for money . Fab location , Axbridge very pretty village and great location to get to towns and the coast . Only niggles would be the slight musty smell and when we did finally did sit down on the sofa after a long day out we didn’t find it very comfortable 🥴.

Axbridge is a beautiful town that I have visited on many occasions. The Lamb Public House is a really good place for a drink and for eating. The menu is varied and the foods is a very high standard. The Oakhouse Hotel provides bed and breakfast and is situated on the square.
It is best to have a car for travelling as public transport is not often. Parking is free and the long stay car park is very close. There is also a short stay car park and some parking spaces on the main square.
Axbridge has an amazing reservoir that is great for walking around, especially if you have a dog.

Axbridge, is a stunning, medieval village close to Cheddar Gorge. There is a reservoir which is good for walking. The Oak House in an inn which forms part of the village square. Parts of the inn are very old: there is an eleventh century well in the function room.
If visiting Cheddar Gorge, it's a good idea to get there before 10.00, when everything opens, because the parking areas are quite small. Reasonable parking fee of £6 for the day. The little cafe at the Cheddar Gorge was able to provide a gluten and dairy-free cream tea. There is a dearth of inns and b&bs in this area which was why we chose Axbridge.

A lovely medieval town with everything you would need to for venturing out or staying local. Great pubs and history on your door step. Parking with 2 mins away in a free 48hr car park, so again ideal.
Ideal for a couple on their own or with a child, this property is perfectly formed. It’s well laid out, comfortably furnished and the wood burner is a lovely addition on colder evenings. The kitchen had everything we needed and there is space outside to enjoy the sunshine. It a very peaceful location with pleasant walks up to Crooks Peak and Wavering Down and only a couple of miles to Cross for a choice of pubs. Nearby Axbridge is a gem of a town and it not far to Wells, Bristol and Glastonbury. Highly recommended.
The location was perfect for our one night stop-over on route south as it was only a short distance from M5 Junction 22. Very comfortable, chic and spotlessly clean accommodation with a wonderful continental/full English breakfast included. Breads and jams were homemade. Fresh milk available to make tea/coffee in the room and also a free to use coffee machine in the downstairs residents' lounge. The lovely, small town of Axbridge is very close by [can recommend The Lamb pub].
Specially chosen, location wise, for travelling around Somerset and revisiting Axbridge. Pub at end of village does superb food. Book to avoid disappointment. Quiet location. Good wifi. Parking beside property. Attentive host. Good facilities and use of outside space for sitting out. Secure room for bikes etc. Good information pack for visitors.
Fantastic room with little touches to help with little ones! Step, hangers and even a little duckie in the bathroom! Bathroom was spacious and beds were really cozy and comfy. Guides and instructions were also really clear. Cheddar and Axbridge were lovely - the people were especially friendly in Axbridge and Cross!
The hotel is situated on a medieval square which is absolutely stunning, the staff are all very friendly and welcoming and totally dog friendly.. The room was clean and Comfortable including fridge fan hairdryer ironing board etc
The restaurant is beautiful and food amazing.
Lovely walks on doorstep
We were warmly welcomed by Graham and had a great stay, with good beds and breakfast. We took a walk into Axbridge, as the closest inn was full, and had a nice dinner at the Lamb Inn. The Old Manor House is close to the Cheddar gorge, which we visited after our departure.
The property is a terrace house right in a heart of the town Axbridge, with a Museum, hair salons, shops and pubs on the step door! The Cheddar village just couple miles away from the property! The house is spotless clean with all essential supplies! Highly recommended!
No one at the hotel when we arrived, phoned and emailed but no answer, had to find somewhere else to stay , trying to get refund.nothing like the pictures on the site.spoilt our weekend away Avoid
This hotel is full of character and the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was quiet, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was absolutely perfect, many choices were offered.
The flat was in a lovely location in centre of Axbridge, was clean, comfortable and had all you needed for a relaxing break, and plenty of walks from the door
