The food was amazing, the breakfast first rate. The room was gorgeous and the staff made my stay even better, they were so warm and helpful. The bar was a lovely place to relax before and after dinner. A really lovely hotel.

This Inn and restaurant is just off the main road and easy to reach. Once there you can lap up the luxury of the generously sized rooms and enjoy the singularly exquisite taste menu (5 or7 dishes) or from the a la carte menu. Over our stays we have tried a wide variety of dishes that are prepared to perfection. Every taste is catered for from aged steaks to light salmon. I can heartily recommend the braised beef with horseradish mash and my husband would recommend the fabulous fresh haddock with triple cooked chips or the tandoori monkfish. The choice of hot breakfast is great but you need to be hungry for the Auldgirth Scottish Breakfast. Chef and staff also know how to deal with food allergies without making a fuss or limiting choices. Gold stars for Rab, Arran, Louise, Chris and the rest of the team. Thank you for an excellent relaxing stay.
A fantasic hidden gem! We both enjoyed the chef's taster menu for our evening meal and every course was delicious. Our room was so comfortable and beautifully decorated, with a huge bed and all facilites you would get in a 5* hotel - compliemtary coffee, toiletries, robes for use, hairdryer etc. And don't miss breakfast - the kippers were wonderful! Staff friendlieness and service was excellent - nothing any bother at all.
Auldgirth Inn has lovely and comfy rooms, and a superb Michelin star restaurant, which was included in the price. Auldgirth Inn enabled me and my partner to have a very special anniversary. The staff were friendly and lovely. The restaurant and breakfast was very good for allergies (I am celiac and I was well catered for).
Room was small, and we specifically chose a room that stated bathroom as opposed to shower room in the room descriptors only to discover we were given the only room in the hotel without a bath. A bath was an important element for us.
The hotel was fabulous and although the room was a bit small the standard of the food more than made up for that disappointment. We both had steaks which were amazing and breakfast was great too. Couldn't fault it!.
This place was a little gem, not like our usual big hotels. Small room but perfect, very omodern bathroom, lovely dinner, great steak and we also had lobster perfectly cooked. Breakfast perfect too
Smart rooms, friendly service and exceptionally good food. The Auldgirth Inn had gained a third AA rosette for its food since our last visit and it is thoroughly deserved.
The staff were brilliant and the food was outstanding. Our room was lovely and romantic. The hotel was easy to find by car and well situated to explore the rest of D&G.
