Great location for a stop off when travelling. Was close to Paris so we caught the train to go into Paris for dinner.

It is great location to stay with the car, so you can choose directions to different areas by car. (We travelled to north-east places, Giverny, Abbey, and to the south Chambord, Blois)
There is also train station, but we didn't used it, but it should be nice point if you want to go to Paris.
Rambouillet center is not so interesting as it looks
French restaurants, which are not "fast foods" working very small period of times, afternoon, and then in evening.

Lovely town surrounded by a fantastic forest and lots of interesting villages to visit.
The town has a beautiful chateau and park with lakes and wonderful walks.
There are lots of shops and restaurants on the main thoroughfare and a few minutes out of the town a large shopping centre.

This is a lovely compact house- downstairs the kitchen/ living and dining area is all one and big enough for 4 although we were out most days 😀 the bedrooms were spacious and very nice- it was very hot while we were there and on request Marie provided 2 fans which was great. Everything was very clean- it's a 10/15 minute walk to the station or into town which meant we hardly used the car! Rambouillet is a lovely town with great restaurants and bars and very easy to get to Paris or the chateau of versailles.
