The cottage was very comfortable throughout. We enjoyed the swimming pool very much. Our dog was welcomed to stay in the cottage which makes such a difference to other places that we have stayed.

I am not used to writing reviews, this time I will make an exception. Missilac is a nice village that is worth a visit. However, what makes the stay really special is the house of Marie-Céline & Didier LA RECREATION _ Ancienne école. Large, airy, surrounded by greenery overlooking the nearby cathedral, it's superbly equipped and complete with many amusing details, such as the wi-fi password written in chalk on a school blackboard that's been inserted into the drawer of an old school desk. However, above it all is the hospitality and attention of Marie-Céline & Didier. I look forward to visiting again soon.

The chateau itself was beautiful - recently restored, but in a very authentic way. The breakfast was delicious - home-made jams, a selection of pastries, freshly-squeezed oranged juice. Antoine was a perfect host - helpful with all our questions (in English), happy to talk about the history of the place when asked, but generally unobstrusive. It's a relatively small chateau, the host's family live in one wing, and at the moment, only two rooms are let for paying guests, so you really feel in a non-touristic situation. The bedroom was lovely, and the two public rooms we could access - dining room and drawing room - were beautiful. Deep in the French countryside.

Lovely location and setting. A very warm welcome. Lovely room with chairs and tables outside to use. Heated swimming pool (good size). Very good choice at breakfast. Julien is an excellent host and extremely interesting to talk too. We definitely want to return and stay for longer.
We liked their concept to have complete disconnection from Wi-Fi services, having all mobile phones on airplane mode and limiting internet use to certain areas of the hotel grounds or using the connection provided. We loved the beautiful garden, the garden walks and the peace and tranquility we found in the hotel.
