Piece of paradise on earth. We stayed in the beautifully renovated family room. Bedroom with separate 'sitting area and bathroom'. We were the only guests that day. It was blissfully quiet. We were amazed by the originality, uniqueness and beauty of Château de Longeville. It was complimented by the warmth and charm of the hosts, Eve and her husband. The room was beautiful, almost frozen in time, but with the comfort of a beautiful ensuite bathroom. Dinner and breakfast are served around a communal table, in a lovely dining room and along with the other guests, we felt we were more at a family gathering than with strangers, in a corporate hotel, dining room.
Booking.com seems to, happily, produce these remote gems, luckily for us, and hopefully they'll stay on the books for more discerning people to experience.

It’s the most beautiful chateau in rural France. So peaceful and just a 1/2 hour walk along a lane to the small village of Le Theil. The owner is so lovely, chatty and helpful. Breakfast and dinner was simple but fine. We stayed in the turret suite which was fantastic. So full of character amd with the original toilet too (although of course there’s a modern one too!) Tea making facilities. Beautiful views across the fields. Extremely relaxing.
