The hosts are wonderful, Tony let us meet his European eagle owl, Saphire, and we came away with a wealth of new facts about certain birds of prey. This was an unexpected bonus to our lovely stay with the family. Very welcoming, perfect breakfast.

We had an enormous room for three which could have easily slept five. Really clean and comfortable with a very good shower.

This is a very quiet area, Annabelle and Peter are very friendly people who welcome you warmly. We stayed in the little place next to the house with a nice lounge / kitchen area and the bedroom upstairs. We had a lovely breakfast served by Peter with fresh fruits, yoghurt, French viennoiseries, English toasts and French baguette with a choice of coffee or tea. The weather was lovely so we enjoyed our breakfast outside.

Le Dorat is a beautiful town to explore with interesting church, medieval walls and buildings. It has great transport links by road and rail. It has a wonderful slower pace of life to relax and switch off
Rustic, comfortable, beautiful, clean.... I could carry on but I will say, we stayed 2 nights as we're touring on motorbike but we would've stayed longer. The family are lovely and the animals 😘 the experience with the bird of pray will stay with us plus the knowledge. We would definitely recommend this hotel with the bird of prey experience to anyone, we are thinking of popping over in the car to do a longer stay in the future 😀
This is an exceptional property set in a beautiful part of France. The chateau has been tastefully furnished and would make an excellent base for a longer stay in the area of Le Dorat. The hosts/ owners did everything they could to make our stay memorable. I travelled here with my wife for a long weekend and would, without hesitation, return for an even longer stay. Great 1 bedroom apartment, kitchen shower room and lounge well equipped and tidy. Shared courtyard outside then large garden with a variety of comfy seats and tables.
Short walk into Le Dorat and 5 metres away from Vieux Cidre who do great food for lunch and evening drinks
