Good room and bathroom. Friendly owner who provided secure storage for our bikes. Good breakfast and a good location a short walk from the centre of town.
Located in a typically Basque village, surrounded by greenery, this rustic hotel has a shaded garden backing onto the River Nive. Its spacious terrace offers panoramic mountain views.

The location of the hotel in a small village outside of St Jean Pied de Port is lovely, so peaceful and relaxing, we had the best nights sleep for years, very comfy beds and exquisitely soft pillows. We slept with the doors open onto our balcony overlooking the river which was lovely to hear at night. We had planned on having lunch and dinner at the hotel as the terrace looked so lovely and way more peaceful than St Jean Pied de Port, which gets very full and busy with tourists and the restaurants close for food early. However, when we arrived at 1.50pm the hotel was locked and closed up no sign of life! We saw a lady gardening on the terrace and asked if we could check in and she was very abrupt and irritable and asked what the time was we said 2.00pm so she called her husband reluctantly to let us in. Fortunately he was a very friendly lovely man and showed us to our room and gave us keys to come and go. However, he informed us it was their day off so no food served all day. We went to the town but all the restaurants had stopped serving food. It would have been considerate if the hosts had emailed us to say there would be no food available as their website highlights the lovely regional cooking, so we were very disappointed. and ended up having cheese and ham in our room. Fortunately the little balcony overlooking the river was fantastic and I really recommend booking a room with a balcony.

This was a beautiful place to stay. A lovely little Pyrenean village, like Saint Jean Pied du Port but without the crowds. There was a large welcoming lounge with a log fire. Madame spoke three languages effortlessly and gave us great recommendations for restaurants. There was a lovely feel to the place and the rooms and beds were very comfortable. Finally - the best breakfast in the world!

Great staff, willing to help out a traveller on foot with a pre-prepared meal even though the restaurant was closed.
