It was a great experience to sleep on a boat for the first time and the area by the canal is magical. The host is extremely nice and welcoming. He also runs a nice restaurant where you can eat after a long active day in the area.

The staff cooked us a special 3 course meal as there were no restaurants within walking distance. In addition they washed our muddy cycling clothes and dried them for a departure the morning of the following day. Very helpful indeed.

A great location for cyclists riding the Voie Verte or a quiet romantic retreat, this cottage is just a short distance from La Magdelaine, one of the picturesque 11 locks of Hédé-Bazouges. It is at the very entrance to a tiny village, adjoining the owner's garden but very private with its own parking, and a secluded terrace area with sun chairs and large dining table and umbrella.
The cottage itself is really cool, with lots of natural wood, large windows and a romantic open loft bedroom that can be curtained off for privacy. We were 3 people and used the downstairs folding sofa as well, and it was comfortable. There is a fully equipped kitchen, and the bathroom has a fancy modern multi-spray shower. It's all new and clean and well maintained.
The hosts are very welcoming and charming, and did a great job of being accessible without intruding. They offer a menu that includes home-made pizzas and other snacks, drinks, and simple foods which we very much enjoyed. They also offer breakfast, but as we were leaving early we didn't try it.
The chef for our evening meal was terrific. This maybe a good place for functions. I was there with a friend and found the stairs , bedroom passage and bedroom decor not worth the money in fact rather depressing.
main surprise was the hotel is right next to a main road and a littler outside the village, so can't avoid road noise otherwise alll was perfectly fine. owner was most helpful and great breakfast. also we arrived late, and owner was perfactly accommodating.
Breakfast was very good, though extra to night rate. We also had an evening meal in the very pleasant garden - the food was exceptional. But the hotel’s best feature is the staff, some of the nicest ever.
This is a great place to stop and the proprietor is kind and helpful. It's best to think of this as camping as against an hotel. The accommodation is charming and good value for money.
The hotel allowed easy access to Hede, with good storage for bikes. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Check-in was easy and staff very helpful with local advice.
