Great hotel, great location but seems short on staff, not that it was a problem for me. Jack was brilliant and very helpful for local information and activities!

Au Pied du Chateau is located right in the heart of Bourdeilles which has a couple of little convenience stores, restaurants and bars. The house was clean when we arrived and it is well set up for cooking and relaxing. The bed was very comfortable and the wifi was extremely reliable. The Bourdeilles vibe is very friendly and we couldn’t fault Jim, the owner of the house, who responded quickly to any messages. The welcome information book provided by Jim is also very thorough. It shows you how to work appliances and also gives you tourist information about the surrounding area. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to Au Pied du Chateau and recommend it highly to anyone interested in visiting the area.

It had everything you could wish for clean comfortable friendly hosts who were fluent in French and English. Great knowledge of the area and restaurants. I like to use 4 pillows I was so surprised that there was extra pillows to cover my requirements in our bedroom. Then breakfast was perfect start to the day and pleased to see local fresh products being sourced.

Fantastic 2 nights stay and Marie is a wonderful hostess, very attentive and willing to help you. She has made her home a very warm and welcoming property, her rooms are lovely and she worked on most of the renovating, amazing results. The property has a lot of history, back to Templars times, and there is a lovely feel about the whole place.
It is incredibly quiet, there are big gardens and if you want a beautiful base to explore a very pretty area, this is a great choice. Merci Marie, we really enjoyed our stay!

A hidden gem. Lovely rooms and stylish bathrooms. We were made to feel very welcome, as was our cocker spaniel, who enjoyed the gorgeous gardens and meadow. A delicious breakfast was also included. A small slice of French heaven.
