Nathalie and Alfred met us on our arrival- such a lovely welcoming couple! Their accommodation is so pretty and beautifully decorated with everything we needed for a short stay. Breakfast was delicious with homemade yogurt and jams and fresh croissants. We’re hoping to hear Nathalie sing when she comes to Australia in 2024 in the Edith Piaf musical. Their place is a hidden gem!

I have stayed here before the hotel is located in the centre of a small village. The proprietors are very helpful and friendly. Check-in is from 18:00 and they provide a simple dinner menu. Parking is available nearby.

On approaching the hotel for the first time, it is clearly a jewel of a location. It as very peaceful, and calming. The breakfast was excellent, and the evening meal was good, if a little pricey. The staff were very helpful, see point below. The black cat was quick to say hello. Fantastic area, lots to see and do.

Chateau De Vault De Lugny is a chateau dating from the 13th and 16th centuries near Vezelay, Chablis and the Morvan Regional Park. It offers luxurious rooms in a peaceful garden setting.

We booked online in good faith including a request for two small dogs having used the filter for ‘pets are allowed’ and followed that up with an email informing the hotel. When we arrived after a long day travelling the hotel was not ready - not even nearly ready & the rooms suitable for dogs were not finished. The Director of the hotel was both gracious and polite - our booking for two rooms was 515 euros and we were seeking a high standard. She recommended an alternative hotel 5kms away which looked fine on her phone screen but was absolutely dreadful - really down beat and completely unsuitable for people who are willing to pay 515 euros per night. It was the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in.
