We was out of season, so the hotel was quiet, the owner was friendly and helpful.

A lovely B&B, made all the lovelier by the hosts, for whom nothing was too much trouble.
Rooms were immaculate, comfortable - and breakfast was great and plentiful.
We arrived late, hosts were accessible and quick to respond.
We were attending a funeral, and got help with planning our route, and the loan of a local map.
We will definitely stay again.

Absolutely quaint cottage. Well equipped kitchen. Garden was perfect - walled in so my dog was able to run around. Lots of places to sit outside. As long as the weather is nice the garden is the perfect place to hang out. There is a swimming pool but it was too chilly for us to swim but it looks lovely.

Clamecy is a friendly and attractive town with a well-preserved medieval core. It is an ideal location for cycling along the Canal de Nivernais and into the surrounding countryside. It has a surprisingly wide range of eating places for such a small town. There is an interesting local museum with an impressive art and archaeological collection as well as a fascinating display about 'Les Flotteurs'. They were skilled woodsmen who floated rafts of firewood up to Auxerre and on to Paris - and who formed an interesting and quite radical rural subculture. I had a fairly dramatic stay in that I had mild sunstroke on my first day's cycling and was taken to the local hospital for a check-up by the paramedics. I was soon discharged but was impressed by their care and concern and that of French cyclists who stopped to help.
The host, waitress from Sint Maarten. She was exceptional. Any hotel should have a host like her. Surprisingly good was diner, and for a fair price. Nice to be able to park the bikes in the garage aswell.
