It's not often I look forward to writing a review as much as this... We were searching for a nice overnight stop in an interesting old French town and boy, we found it. Behind an unassuming metal gate, there lies a real gem and I highly recommend it to you. For once, we found a place that you could actually call home for a family (or two) for a week (or two). Every facility has been thought through and if you want to be in the heart of French wine making then this is the place for you. There's a spacious and workable kitchen. The bedroom has space to set your clothes out, just like home. The lounge is comfy and warm. Gardens just amazing. There's a washing machine, several showers and toilets. Very welcoming hosts, the town is interesting and worth a walk-around every day of your stay. French rural life is taking a battering, just like most European countries, but there's an opportunity to enjoy old school service and experiences that you and your kids will remember. We really enjoyed our stay and I recommend that you try this place out.

Chablis is a beautiful French village, surrounded by beautiful slopes that produce some of the best Chardonnay in the world, in our opinion. The central village is small, picturesque and very pleasant to explore on foot. There is free parking (even overnight) in the Saint Martin car park. The surrounding countryside is beautiful to explore on foot or by car.
We enjoyed the wine tasting at Domaine LaRoche in the centuries old winery in the former monastery located at the center of the village. We also enjoyed a tasting at Domaine Jean-Marc Brocard, about 10 minutes south of town by car; besides great wine, they have a fascinating underground room revealing an actual cross section of the various soil types as you go deeper (and further back in time), all of which goes into the magic of the local wines.
We would love to go back for another day or two sometime.

This was our first time visiting Chablis and we loved it.
This was our first time visiting Chablis and we loved it. We stayed in a hotel in the center of town that we thoroughly enjoyed.
Everything was within walking distance, so we never had to move the car once we parked it. There is a spacious free, parking lot as street parking would be difficult.
The town was very charming. We enjoyed walking around and stopping into some of the little shops. Of course, Chablis is home to some fabulous wines and wineries, so we did our share of tasting.
We just arrived home and we are already talking about returning to see the things we couldn't get to on this trip.

We have visited Chablis a number of times, this trip was the first time we have stayed; 2 nights at Chez Bea was the perfect accommadation in the Centre of Chablis, providing easy walkable access to the Chablis Wine establisments and numerous Restaurants, all of a high standard.
Our 2 cocker spaniels welcome at Chez Bea, and also in the Restaurants.
Chablis Sunday Markets are very good with many high standard local produce to choose from.
P.S. On Market days the main highstreet is closed; If you are thinking of leaving Chablis on a Sunday by car, check with the local Tourist information for a route out of the town.

We eventually stayed in an old favourite Host du Clos which has also lost its rosette and is not as good as it was

If you like good chablis, this is the place to go to, Here you can finde the famous Wine-houses, and good opportunities to taste and buy good chablis wine. It is an old city, with many old buildings, but it is a smal town. take the opportunity to take a walk in the Grand cry wine yards, by following the trail from the town.
We found a very good restaurant in the same building at the Hôtel Du Vieux Moulin (Au Fil du Zinc), but you need to make reservation in advance.

We only had a Wednesday stop over but after all day riding we were very disappointed, on arrival, to find only one bar and two restaurants open in the evening. At 8.30 many visitors were left bemused by Chablis apparent lack of care for their tourists.
The rooms are spare but cozy, and the spot is convenient to everything in Chablis anyone could want to see. The best part? The restaurants in the hotel are incredible, with a wine list longer than War and Peace. Have aperitifs or breakfast outside in the stunning courtyard. Friendly and kind staff who are all fluent in English as well as French.
Great location - center of Chablis, but in a quiet area at the same time. Free parking (if there's a place to park as it was full at the end of the day and I saw 2 cars that had to go back and find a place outside the premises), good breakfast, clean rooms, friendly personnel. You can also taste some nice Chablis by glasses in the restaurant.
the location of the hotel was exceptional with a stunning restaurant below and sat across the weir. The room was immaculate with the beautiful and expansive bathroom. Being linked with a local cellar where whe could grab a chilled bottle of Chablis and sit in our window and enjoy the view made it all the more magical.
We did not have breakfast as the dining room looked neglected and dirty. The whole place was shambolic and looked like a cheap hotel in the 1940s. Booking.com really should investigate this. As it was late Saturday afternoon when we arrived there was nowhere else to go,we were stuck but I will never go back.
There isn’t a better place to stay in the Chablis area! The apartment is spacious, spotless, beautifully decorated and comfortable. The grounds and private terrace overlooking the river are wonderful. The hosts are friendly, knowledgeable and so welcoming. I just wish I had planned more time here!
I was surprised by the appearance of the room and en-suite loo and shower space which I would describe as 'state of the art'. Clearly there has been a recent refurb and the management has quite rightly invested in the most important element of the hotel for guests - the bedrooms. Well done!
It is a really smart apartment, nicely done out and with plenty of faciltiies. We were only there for one night so did not eat in but there is a well equipped kitchen with nice sitting areas. It is pretty central in Chablis so easy to walk most places in that lovely town.
Perfect location as steps from Chablis shops, bars and the gorgeous river bar at the back of the house. The house itself is exquisite - comfortable, elegant and could feature in a Homes and Garden magazine. The outside terrace garden is tranquil and beautiful.
Very good apartment on the first floor. Spacious, clean, everything we needed. Polite, helpful owner. Right in the centre of Chablis on the main road. Some traffic noise as well as noise from the hotel opposite, which didn’t bother us.
Location was perfect for the wedding we were attending. Parking could sometimes be tricky, but there were a lot of people in Chablis for the wedding, so it was to be expected. Also very comfortable beds!
Modern comfortable studio apart with absolutely everything you need for a short stay. All the staff are super helpful with the bonus of a Chablis tasting session downstairs in the Cave de Degustation.
