Loved the location of the hotel right in centre and parking behind. The staff were friendly, although we only saw one member of staff during our stay, a young guy who seemed to do everything. We ate in the restaurant and the meal was excellent and the restaurant was busy and had a nice atmosphere
The Nouvel Hôtel du Commerce is located in Castellane, in the Verdon region.

A good location for our cycling trip and a lovely breakfast, definitely worth paying for if you are in your way to Nice as there is nothing once you leave the town.
This campsite is set on the river bank, located in the village of Castellane, within a 5-minute drive of the Verdon Gorge.

It is an incredibile place . We arrived very easy. All the camping is very clean , réception very nice and very helpful. We took a tent adventure but it was cold during the night and they change it with a bungalow for the second night. I liked that all the kids play together and stay outside for hours.
This camping site is situated in the heart of the Verdon Gorges, at an altitude of 765 metres and just 2 km from Castellane. Camping Calme et Nature boasts a barbecue and sun terrace.

Excellent location for a cute little studio flat right in the heart of town. It had everything we needed - the kitchen was great and it was warm and convenient. There was a bit of confusion with the location and door code at first, but they were so helpful to come and help us in person. The free parking is convenient - a public lot just under the city gate and up the street. It's not possible to drop off luggage at the door, though, if you're expecting to.
Set in Castellane and only 17 km from Château de Taulane Golf Course, Camping Les Framboiseilles offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking.

The staff at this campsite are really helpful and friendly.
The cabin that we stayed in was immaculately prepared with everything you could need for a holiday in Castellane. The views from the balcony are stunning.
To walk in to Castellane turn left out of the gate and it is about 1km away. There isn't a footpath but the road is wide and most drivers are courteous.
This area is very popular with motorcyclists so expect some noise until around 8pm.
The site will charge you around 350euros deposit in case you damage anything but this is refunded quickly if you leave the home as you would expect to find it
For shopping there's an Auchan supermarket on the other side of the village plus a Spar in the centre of the village. Within Castellane there are numerous bars and restaurants plus artisan shops.

Market days are great a reason to get up early and walk into town, so Wednesday and Sunday(check Sunday) are good days to be around.
A walk up the well maintained path to the old church over seeing the valley is worth the effort.
One of the restaurants wouldn’t invite us to sit at 11.00a.m if we could only commit to coffee.”we are a restaurant” the owner gestures with his arms. Presumably the 3 tables with people and espresso’s that drew my attention were the owner and staff cooling their heels waiting for customers.
We found another who could lower themselves to serve us coffee. . . And stayed until 2.30 had a great meal and a few drinks while we watched Australian state of origin RL. Queensland up 20 6 at half time, ultimately lost to NSW!!

On the way to Maison Castellane from Gordes we enjoyed the scenery a lot. Our apartment has everything you need with a cozy sitting area. Our booking was for 3 nights. There's unexpected incident happened. Mr Lambert and his wife were very kind to help us through the difficult time. We're very appreciated and grateful to them.
We couldn't finish our stay and unable to visit the area. So we'll definitely come back and stay here again to finish what we haven't done.

An excellent 10 days in one of their cabins.
An excellent 10 days in one of their cabins. The staff are really friendly and all speak English which a bonus. The pool is great and surprisingly warm however I think it might get a bit busy in high season. The cabin we had was great, modern and well cared for. It is steep terraced site, so walking up the hill for bread in the morning was a challenge for me in me in my 70's but doable, if I did need a few minutes before talking to the shop assistant. Ideally located for the French Alps and the coast even if were disappointed with Cannes. Castellane is a lovely little town with everything you need. The highlight of this area is the scenery which is outstanding

My favorite places there were around the lake, enjoying the water and the boats. I also liked the walk towards the fossils of ancient see-cows. In the evening, we ate mainly at the camping; mornings I enjoyed a cup of coffee and walked to the boulangerie for a nice sandwich. I would avoid coming in July next time. It was quite hot.

logistically basing yourself in Castellane makes sense, but it's too busy even during covid and it doesn't really matter where you stay as you'll have to take a bus at beginning or end of the hike anyway; having a rental car is the best. The local bakeries make excellent croissants though. I'd not stay in castellane again, instead I'd book more in advance to stay somewhere with an amazing view and a balcony. La Bastide de Moustiers might be the best place to stay, and the food is excellent.

Nice small little town with a lot of restaurants, great views and a big supermarket with fair choices of products if you are staying on the camping. I was traveling solo and I would say it was more couple or family friendly.
Great base spot for canion verdon hikes.
The host and apartment were both excellent. Good location for getting to the lavender fields near Valensole and Verdon Gorge region. It is about a 12-15 minute walk to the center of town. A large grocery store is about a 6 minute drive. The rooms are shaded which kept the apartment comfortable in the summer. Kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfortable, and having 2 bathrooms was a plus. Marc was very accommodating and helpful. He provided a local map and suggested things to do. We would definitely recommend Vacances Castellane.
Very nice place, very clean, everything was new except a couple of stuff, but anyway working well; staff so nice and welcoming, really mire than we imagine in a two stars camping. We reserved a four place home, two rooms and private bathroom, small but really comfortable. Credit Card accepted even for small amount. Also restaurant clean and good food. Very suggested!
It is at 1 km to Castellane, nice area but PAY ATTENTION: no credit card in three boulangerie, even in one restaurant.
Really nice calm, quiet site. Even though the site was crowded when we arrived, it was still peaceful. The owners were very welcoming and they were dog friendly. Our cabin was nice, clean and reasonably well equipped (needed saucepans). Possible to order bread and croissants etc for the next morning at reasonable prices. Castellane itself has lots of restaurants and a big supermarket.
Well attended campsite, new and modern mobile homes offering everything required, friendly staff, close to Castellane and Gorge of Verdun, ideal starting point for action and adventure hiking and water activities, we also enjoyed a quick came of pétanque, the farm animals and the free coffee - highly recommend!
The property is in the center of the very nice village of Castellane. The staff is kind. The hotel is completely renewed and with high quality materials / furnitures. The best place to stay to have a relaxing rest in Provence. Our room had a wonderful view on the famous rock of Castellane! Absolutely loved it!
Absolutely superb stay - the host was charming, helpful and friendly, the location was beautiful, quiet and had a great view, the room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was absolutely wonderful. I would recommend BnB Castellane without hesitation for a long or a short stay.
The place is right on the road a few minutes drive from Castellane (restaurants, supermarket) with convenient parking across the road from the hotel. It was a convenient place to spend a night. Owner was very helpful despite our language barrier, and his dog is very friendly:)
The rustic style of the house is amazing. The kitchen is a dream! I love cooking, so this is very important to me. The bathroom and showers is very spacious. Stephane, the owner is very friendly. The place is quiet and peaceful, yet is very close to the village Castellane.
Castellane is a beautiful village with some of the most fascinating natural gorges, rivers and mountains in France.
The restaurants and shops were lovely with good food everywhere. We had a charming little balcony which let us enjoy watching life in the town piazza.
This was one of the highlights of our trip. from the moment we arrives, the host and his beautiful dog Gibson welcomed and entertained, wined and dined us. A beautiful biker friendly hotel who sells the nicest Belgian beer. We felt at home from the moment we arrived
Petra and Leo are very kind, warm people. If you are in Castellane. This is the place where you have to stay. Both are so kind...
We had a nice room, quite big. Bed was comfortable, towels soft.
Very nice breakfast where we had a nice chat with Petra and Leo.
Great campsite and pool, location is lovely as you get to enjoy a nice 10 minute drive round the mountain to the lovely village of castellane.. Mobile home was very clean and great value for money, we had lots of space for two of us.
Good location for local excursions, several restaurants in walking distance. Clean, well kept hotel. Nice rooms (ours has a little balcony with a view), quiet, parking in the back is a big plus. Very good breakfast buffet.
Out host Veronica was very welcoming. No issues checking in. Very quiet and safe. Our children slept his a tent a bit down the hill from us and we had no issues. Our first time in France. Hope to return.
The breakfast on the front terrace was a really nice start to the day. The location is minutes walk from the centre of Castellane. The room was comfortable and clean. I liked the style of the house.
