They also have a restaurant, they didn't serve the night I was staying there but the cook prepared dinner for me nevertheless – perfect. Really good for a stop in the region. Just a 25 minute drive to Saint-Pourçain. Really appreciated my stay.

This property is stunning! The gentleman explained that it is 300 years old. It had such character and the insides have been renovated to a modern style which compliments the age of the property. I have seen other comments about rude staff, we did not experience this at all. The gentleman that greeted us was very friendly and helpful.

The food was excellent and the room quiet and of a good size, The surrounding countryside was pleasant but not particularly scenic. We visited in November so it was not applicable, but the terrace looked very inviting and ought to be great for sitting outside on a summers evening.
We have stayed at numerous similar properties and indeed once owned our own farmhouse in SW France. The standard of accommodation and comfort at Bellenaves was lower than normal. If you are seeking a rural retreat, where tranquilty matters more than comfort, you may find what is on offer to your satisfaction.
