Delightful hotel with lovely staff. Right by the Louvre in Lens, this modern hotel is in converted terraced houses that were once homes for miners. I usually stay at a Premiere Classe motel - for the extra ten or so euros this was SO much better: nice to stay in a room that doesn’t look like it’s designed to be hosed down between guests. Appreciated the proper duvet and bed linen (as opposed to dubious coverlet), large bathroom with actual bath, nice smelling citrusy shower gel, good lighting, USB charge points above bed. Lovely place and very welcoming staff. Perfect stopping off place prior to heading back across the channel. We arrived on a Friday and the restaurant was open - excellent value and tasty food and wines/beers. Simple buffet breakfast which was all that we needed/wanted.
