It's been a while since I've given a place the highest rating, but this one deserves it. When we drove up the forested mountain in our car, we did not expect that after a few winding kilometres, we would reach a paradise. Of course, we immediately noticed the beautiful mountain panorama, which looked even nicer in the rays of the setting sun. The greatest thing, however, is the accommodation itself: a historic, renovated building in which every element has been refined to the last detail with a unique sense of aesthetics. A beautiful living room with sofas and a bar, well-preserved rafters, an antique piano, lots of rustic decorations, and matching materials and colours. It felt like another world there. Let's add a very nice receptionist, delicious food in the hotel restaurant, very friendly cats and five cheerful Saint Bernard dogs - and we have a recipe for success. We will be happy to return there.
Great location in the center of Santa Pau. Beautiful decoration in the room, bathroom and common areas. All decoration is tailor themed as one of the ancestors was a tailor (=sastre in Catalan). Breakfast was excellent and abundant, with high quality products and served at the table with excellent service. Impecable service from all personnel and the host at the hotel who not only were nice but went above and beyond providing tips on the places to visit in the surrounding area. Thank you for being great hosts and made this stay so special!
From our double room we had excellent view to main square (Santa Pau is extremely small). Shower was good, bed was really comfortable, rooms renovated. Peaceful night guaranteed. Check-in: call the number on the door, and host arrived in 10 minutes.
We had good dinner with kids at Food truck in Santa Pau, suggested. (Other pizzeria was fully booked in Friday night).
Pretty much everything. It's a rustic building and their superior room has everything you need. The hosts are super nice and will take care of you and anything you need. Location is perfect if you want to be in Santa Pau, which is in itself a great place to stay of you want to stay a few days exploring the volcanic surroundings.

Having read the excellent online reviews I was looking forward to staying at this hotel. However, I came away very disappointed with the experience.
Good points - location; the hotel is situated in the heart of the beautiful medieval village of Santa Pau.
The best thing was the location, with stunning views and a sense of isolation. The village of Santa Pau has all the basics ans Olot has lots to see and do. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend to anyone I speak to
we picked this hotel because of its attention to detail. we liked the style and the artwork. then we stayed and we liked Eva and the rest of the staff. we stayed 2 nights and ate in their restaurant 1 night. everything was excellent.
We had a great stay. Eva was very friendly and it was great talking to her. The room was very spacious with a nice balcony overseeing an old castle. The hotel is very well maintained and decorated. Santa Pau is a small charming town.

It was in the beautiful town of Santa Pau and was so full of charm and old world character. I we also loved the salt water pool. The owners were awesome- so nice and friendly and quick to respond.
The hotel was in an excellent position situated in the main historic square. The hotel manager, Eva, was a gem - very knowledgeable and had such energy.
