Very helpful lady handled our check in, and provided us with passes to Cathedrals Beach.
The rooms were of a good size. Shower was fine, and the beds were comfy.

The room was beautifully decorated and spotless, plenty of room for two people. The bed was very comfortable, and we both slept well.. The on suite bathroom too was well equipped and clean. great shower, plenty of hot water, the toiletries were very useful and a god send for me, a hairdryer. We had the options of various dishes for breakfast, we choose the toasted croissants filled with ham and cheese and tomatoes with toast (Spanish style) and there was always more if you wanted it. The owners very friendly, and informative. nothing was too much trouble, We will stay again.

The location is next to the Marina with good views to the river.
Although not in the centre it is a very pleasant and relaxing location.
It is a very small hotel so therefore limited facilities however this does not detract in any way.
There are good restaurants on either side of the hotel.
The staff are extremely helpful and friendly.

We only had one night in Ribadeo, which by coincidence, was during a festival. The night life was brilliant, with live music staged in the town centre, and several ad hoc groups of musicians moving around the town, as well as a fair.
It was a great night, and we loved the atmosphere and the friendliness of the locals.

Ribadeo is a small seaside town.
Ribadeo is a small seaside town. Very quiet this time of the year. Easy to walk around but the town itself could be difficult for wheelchair users or people with visual or walking difficulties. Several of the footpaths are quite narrow and the kerbs are up to 30cm in height in some places. However outside the town centre, walkers should not experience any difficulties.
People are friendly and helpful. I speak some Spanish and Portuguese, and found I could manage Gallego, the local dialect, which is similar to Portuguese. This is just as well as very few people can speak more than a few words of English. I noticed that most of the reviews were from Spanish people.
You can take a local bus or walk on a boardwalk about an hour east to Praia Catedrais (Cathedral Beach), where there are spectacular rock formations where the sea has eroded the coastline. Some parts are inaccessible at high tide and there are clear signs warning that you will be fined at least €6,000 if they have to rescue you!
This time of the year, Ribadeo would be an ideal place to visit if you are looking for a nice quiet holiday.

The friendliness of the population has to be experienced to believe it. Not a huge town but plenty happening there. Shops and bars abound and a short walk/drive down to the sea front with restaurants to enjoy the array of fish dishes.

My first visit to Northern Spain...
My first visit to Northern Spain... Galicia, and what an absolute gem. I shouldn't really write a review as is it's not full of tourists and I like it that way!!
Amazing, rugged coastline with fantastic walkways, great for walkers but also caravanners are well catered for there... it's a touring sort of place.
Was hard to find breakfast (?) and no lunch before 1pm, nor dinner before 9pm, so plan well!!
Loved it and popped in to some charming nearby towns, no names, find your own unique way....enjoy!
Hired a car from the airport, was very cheap :)
Very friendly host, who invited us to a tasty tuna pie and croissants from the nearby bakery. He also had good recommendations for dining. Good location in a really intersting town. The apartment is in perfect condition and well equipped, everything works well. The high score for our Northern Spain trip! Recommendation also to get the "indians" trailguide at the tourist office.
Lots of camino walkers so everyone was in bed early and conscious of not making noise so we could get some rest. Staff at reception were very helpful and there is a breakfast that seems really good but we didn't get to try it. Good location in Ribadeo close to the sea front and bars, shops and restaurants.
Very helpful and friendly gentleman met us,gave lots of information and took us to the parking which to the rear of the property.
Ribadeo is a lovely port and town and this place is in a good location for all that you want.
Very nice room in small hotel in centre of small town in little known part of Spain. Very helpful and friendly owner, who brought forward breakfast for me, so I could catch my bus. Clean, comfortable, good wifi.
