Casa el Majorero, hotel in Puerto del Rosario

Casa el Majorero is situated in Puerto del Rosario, 300 metres from Casa Museo Unamuno Fuerteventura, 17 km from Fuerteventura Golf Club, and 21 km from Eco Museo de Alcogida.

Everything was really nice in the apartment, and the host was great, couldn't meet us but told us how to enter the building via a locked key box. The lounge was lovely and comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped although we didn't do any cooking, just made drinks. A very large fridge freezer which was great for water, milk and beer. The bedroom was nice, bed comfortable and lots of storage wardrobes and drawers. Would certainly recommend this apartment.

The bed is very confortable, the windows have mosquito nets, the water pressure when you shower is excellent and you can take a long shower without worrying that the water will get cold and of course we really loved the jacuzzi.

    It is quiet and traditional.

It is quiet and traditional. There are some beautiful buildings and a lot of sculptures and murals. It is a bit run-down - a lot of bars and shops near the sea front are closed. It seems to suffer from a lack of tourism because of the popularity of modern resorts on Fuerteventura.

I did a lot of research and the best value for money car hire, and I used them for a month, was Autoreisen at the airport. I went for a cycling holiday, but not too strenuous, and there are a good few miles of relatively flat tracks along the sea front, either side of and through, puerto del rosario. I was a little unlucky with quite high winds, a bit out of character for February/March. Aldi, Lidl and the large chain Spanish supermarkets available in easy car distance. I don't know why but the locals and visitors are much more friendly on Fuerteventura than they were on Lanzarote when i went there for a month last year.

This is a real town for locals not primarily tourists , there less restaurants than more tourist places and they are dotted about the town. It’s got a port and harbour as well as a small beach and a massive shopping centre . Generally the place looks like it’s undergone some improvements, paving, buildings etc , away from the port area there are new , old and abandoned areas all in various stages but I always felt safe. There doesn’t seem to be much nightlife unless we just didn’t find it, even at weekends. We were lucky to be there for the carnival so that was interesting. It’s ideally located to tour the island as we did in our 2 weeks stay.

It's not a fancy touristy town but we loved it.

It's not a fancy touristy town but we loved it. If you prefer to live like the locals and stay away from mass tourism it is perfect. It is also perfectly located to reach both the north, the south and the west it the island.

Warm place and lovely people !! Transport connections are awesome , you have the port and the airport close by . Also they have busses and you can reach almost the entire island . I recommend playa Blanca , not playa Los Pozos . Have fun !!

This is not a resort, but a real, working port.

This is not a resort, but a real, working port. For me, that was the charm - there are tourists here, but most of the people around are clearly Spanish. The front is pleasant to walk along with lots of places to sit in the sun. There are lots of great cafes and bars, too, and a large shopping centre with up-market shops. The Miguel Unamuno house is worth a visit. Nice town.

This was a spacious villa. Basic but provided all the things you needed. Quite area. Cleaner came every week to clean, change bedding and provide clean towels. Hosts did respond quickly to any queries. Two supermarkets within a 5 minute walk. A bus stop was also beside these and you could use the number 6 service to go to Corralejo or Puerto del Rosario. Wi-fi ok downstairs and outside.

It met my expectations based on the information provided by Booking.com and the reviews. Puri was very commutative and helpful. It was possible walk to Puerto del Rosario by the sea. It will be even better when the new promenade is finished. There is a nice little bar on the beach. The bed was very comfortable. I have booked to stay again.

There is roof access which was quite nice on days in which the beach was busy. It only had 4 loungers but all were partially broken on the hinges which held the back of the seat up. The beds were comfortable but had yellow colouring to them as well as the pillows, the location is great but I always love staying in Puerto del Rosario.
