I loved the City it was clean and well maintained.
I loved the City it was clean and well maintained. I got lost and a kind Spanish man helped me get back on the Camino.
This man walked with me for 4 kilometres until we found the Camino TRAIL.
Ponferrada the City should mark the Camino trail better than they have. Even signage within the city saying “Camino that way. A few other city residents did not have a clue on how to get back to the Camino. The Knights Templar Castle was a sight to see.

Wonderful Temple knights history, well described during castle visit. Impressive past and great attraction on Camino de Santiago for the thousands of Pilgrims now walking or cycling. An important part of old Spanish history.
Easy to find. Safe secure parking. Nice clean basic hotel supported by first class helpful staff. Evening meal was great value for money. Our thanks to Merce at reception for the assistance checking in and sorting out our parking. Additionally our thanks to Arancha who went above and beyond during the evening birthday meal for one of our colleagues.
We travelled from Hotel Boa Vista in Porto to this hotel. Boa Vista could learn a lot from this hotel in relation to customer services and staff manners. Well done Ponferrada Plaza.
I loved the location of Hotel Los Templarios. It is located near the main plaza and the Castillo de Los Templarios. The staff was welcoming and helpful both at check in and the morning during breakfast. Breakfast is offered for a small price starting at 7:00am. My room was small but it had a big, comfortable bed. There was also a place to store bicycles for the bicigrinos who were staying at the hotel. There was plenty of hot water and the water pressure was excellent.
Had a wonderful relaxing stay in this bright, convenient, airy apartment with great views to the mountains. The flat is very comfortable, and conveniently located for the shopping centre, with a short drive to the Ponferrada old town and castle . The host is wonderful and could not be more helpful. This place is so relaxing and if you venture into the Castle ...what a secret gem...the library .WOW!
I loved EVERYTHING because it was perfect in every way! Waldo goes above and beyond! The place looked brand new with beautiful amenities, and his staff was also very friendly and helpful! I would come back to Spain JUST to stay here!!! Photos from the jewel of this hotel, the rooftop terrace are attached. A glass of wine sitting on the sofa under the stars is a must!!!
Location was great! the personnel were super friendly, we took the buffet breakfast option and it was very complete and the lady from the restaurant was really nice. We loved everything about this hotel, the only downside is that it doesn't have parking. They have an agreement with a nearby parking area but you have to walk a couple of blocks
The location of the hotel is amazing. The staff was great when we checked in but they had us waiting in the check out because they couldn't figure out their own system and wanted to make us pay for the room again.. overall, quite a standard environment but definitely comfortable and good value for money
I liked every single thing about this place. It was spotless, desk folk were way friendly, the location is danged near perfect, and they had the Italy v Spain Futball game on in the attached cafe. Spain lost, but the hotel had nothing to do with that. Amazing bathtub for soaking off the day's pains.
Difficult to review this place. Is a little out of town. So it was quiet. Room was nice, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. We spoke with owner on morning of our departure and he was friendly and keen to explain how to get back on to the Camino route. Bike storage in the hotel.
Really modern hotel style albergue. Super clean and was very quiet. I was the only one in my dorm which has 6 bunks. Had good kitchen and washing facilites, quite close to the way and to a Decathalon in case you need anything for the onward journey.
Wonderful Host Bernard. Clean, gorgeous hotel and grounds. So much art and collectibles and fun things to look at. Huge, comfortable bed and room. Loved everything about it!!! I will be back on my next Camino and will stay a week!
Good Location in the heritage part of town. Hotel has no cafe but there are enough bars and cafes nearby.
Was given a veru good reccommendation by the receptionist to an excellent tapas bar.
Room was clean and comfortable.
great hotel, right on one of the main squares . lovely place to stay for those walking the camino. the rooms are large with a small refrigerator and bath tub. short walk to the Templar’s castle .
Lovely hostel with AC in Ponferrada. Easy access back to the Camino. Staff very helpful. Arrived there during a heat wave and so appreciated the clean room and ability to cool down.
Good breakfast. Plenty of food. Clean modern building. Spacious room. Very well placed for the centre of Ponferrada near the castle. Great facility for bikes in the basement.
Big modern soulless hotel, but served the purpose, Very secure parking, only 20 minutes walk from the castle, old town area. Quiet location, easy to find.
