I was delighted that the owner put me in room at the top of the building directly overlooking the town and beach. (He very kindly upgraded me). And being on the 3rd floor was no disadvantage because the property has an elevator. It is worth noting that the beach is directly accessible from the property by steps - I think I counted 140, which gives you an idea of the elevated position. There is a busy bar on the beach which I enjoyed.

A gorgeous old seaside town with so much history... and so many bars and cafes. Frequent buses run up and down the coast from here and one inland to Durango too, so it would make a good base for exploring the area by public transport. Two good beaches, a little fish market and bridges galore; what more could an idler like me want?
