It is a stunning place and I recommend visiting but sadly i didnt feel like the owner liked having pilgrims stay there or having to drive them (which he got paid for by the way). He was overall very nice but made some comments here and there and got very moody all of a sudden… the other guests felt the same way

Large room, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and crisp sheets. Large bath and shower.
Staff were very helpful and though their restaurant was closed that day for a private function and the subsequent day they recommended and booked a table for us at Ribomar restaurant which was excellent.
Also tried A fonte do Vino restaurant and had perfect seafood especially the spider crab pate.
We stayed on an extra night at the hotel to try their famous salipon de marisco - it was absolutely superb as was the sea bass

Beautiful appointed property, we had the suite which was perfect. The view incredible watching life on the Ria. Everything you could want for a short stay. Some lovely restaurants a short walk away
Fredie was the most generous, attentive and welcoming host. We have a wonderful weekend, enjoying beautiful food, wine and the room was gorgeous. We had dinner both evenings at the hotel and both meals were excellent. We also had a great massage organised through the hotel. The room was a generous size with a very comfortable bed, small seating area and bath. It’s a very relaxing atmosphere. Thank you Fredie, we will be back soon!
We loved everything about our stay at Casa Rural El Abuelo, from the super friendly welcome to the beautifully designed room, perfect swimming pool, restaurant recommandation and amazing breakfast! One of the best hotels we’ve ever been to! (and we stay at a lot of nice hotels!)
Staying at this property was like staying at a friends beautiful home in the country. This is such a comfortable and unique boutique hotel experience - beautiful furniture, beautiful gardens, fantastic hospitality and wonderful food and wine.
What a special place to stay. This small hotel is a real gem. The star of the show is Jose, who is a warm and welcoming host, very attentive to all our needs. The gardens, the pool area, the food.....everything was excellent.
