The double room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The single room again had a comfortable bed. Cleanliness was fine. Isabella at breakfast was very kind and helpful in contrast to others.

Firstly I should point out that staff went out of their way to make a bad situation better.
We arrived I'm the middle of a heatwave. We discovered there was no air-conditioning or fan in the room. This is a booking.com problem. I used the filters to specify air-conditioning but somewhere in the process it was dropped without me spotting it.
First impression of the room - oh dear. We could smell the shower curtain as soon as we opened the door. Rank. Staff gave us another room. The bathroom was miniscule. The shower curtain smelled rank
We had a sleepless night. Noise from the street outside and also other guests slamming doors kept us awake.
Staff gave us another room the following day. Again the noise and heat deprived us of sleep.
Never again.
I want to stress that staff were helpful, but their hands are tied. The hotel is old. I'"m sure it has its place but not for me.

Very well equipped and well located. Have a parking spot to unload the car and a cheap public parking nearby
Despite saying I was travelling with dogs I was placed on the 3rd floor. The isolation of the hotel is bad and I could hear people closing their doors, talking in the corridor and the person on the room next door taking a shower.
Also when I opened the wardrobe I found 5 empty bottles of beer which made me wondering about the cleanliness.
Elegant hotel in a nice setting. Easy access to road network. Easy free parking , felt safe. Nice outside area for a drink.
Dining room was very good, excellent value meal. Nice staff. Four star hotel price was very low, possibly due to Covid?
We were travelling from Santander to Portugal and this was an overnight stop. It fulfilled the purpose. It was comfortable, close to the motorway and breakfast was very good. I would recommend the hotel.
