If you are looking for a quiet, seaside town with all the amenities, Laxe is a good place to visit. It has nice bars and cafes and a couple of small supermarkets. It is great for campervans as there is plenty of free space to park up.
The area offers some great walks and amazing sandy beaches which are virtually deserted.

It's a tiny town, easy to walk around, relatively easy to park in too. The beach is great, although there are better, hidden ones within a ten to fifteen minute drive.
I ate in one restaurant and as a vegetarian there weren't more than 2 or 3 options but i had a salad with Goats Cheese ice-cream, recommended by my host, and it was AMAZING! Still, i'd struggle to eat there for more than a couple of days. The food isn't that cheap but the beer and wine were. There is a beautiful old church to visit too.

A small town with a fishing port and several restaurants, bars and cafes. Although it's a tourist and surfer destination like most of the Galician seaside towns it's still rather utilitarian and not dressed up as a commercialised attraction. The surrounding countryside, bays and beaches are spectacular and there are many super homes in the hills around the town. If you're driving, you may find the parking in town a little hard to come by!

Laxe is a small place, so you can walk easily around and if you love outdoor activities it offers lots of nature attractions that we liked exploring. We loved trekking along the coastal line and explore all the beaches, such as the Playa de Laxa, Playa de los Cristales, Laxe Lighthouse. It is also near other important places such as La Corunha and Santiago de Compostela that we loved visiting.
One of two architect restored and designed buildings on the outskirts of Laxe with far reaching views of the sea, hills and surrounding countryside. Casa Elise has three en suite bedrooms, plus a mezzanine area that has a sofa bed; a sleek designer kitchen, lounge and two dining areas - one of which has outstanding views and we used as an impromptu office during our stay. There is a large covered entertaining area with wood bbq and laundry room. This house has everything! Max was a brilliant host and was careful to ensure we were happy .
Beautifully clean and well appointed apartment in a perfect location with a huge terrace overlooking the little fishing port at Laxe, and just five minutes walk from the beach. Communications with owner were speedy and she was very helpful and thoughtful. Some really good restaurants serving fantastic fish just a few minutes walk away. We had one of our best holidays there!
The location is excellent, right behind the beach/sand dunes. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast was very good, too. The highlight of Boutique O Náutico for us was the service provided by the owners of this family-run hotel. They were very friendly and even more helpful. We will definitely be back for another stay!
Lovely, modern hotel. Great big, clean bedroom with a/c. Terrace on the top floor with great views. Unfortunately, the Terrence bar only opens at weekends but you can take drinks up from the bar downstairs. Location great with the beach metres away and good restaurants and bars close by.
This hotel was fantastic. The staff were great, the bedroom and bathroom were spotless and the breakfast was excellent. We definitely recommend this hotel. We spent two nights here and would have liked to have stayed longer, but had to carry on with the Camino dos Faros.
Great room with gorgeous view over the harbour. The owner is very helpful and offers lots of Information of activities in the area. Unfortunately we didn't have enough time for Laxe this time on our trip. This hotel is very recommendable.
Very friendly and helpful staff, who organised a taxi from the airport to the hotel which was over €50 cheaper than any other company we could find. Breakfast was delicious, rooms were clean, comfortable and well decorated.
A very comfortable and pleasant stay in the lovely town of Laxe whilst travelling around Galicia's Costa da Morte. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and gave us lots of recommendations for places to visit in the area.
The location was pretty good, and there was plenty of parking around the area. The rooms were large and the hotel staff was very helpful. The area was quiet and we were able to get a good night's sleep.
I like how the staff successfully used a translation app to answer all my questions. I wish all hotels did this. Very kind and patient.
I would spent time here again.
