They had availability (we were struggling to get Camino del Norte proximate accom). Also, handy for the train. Comfy. And the terrace was a good spot to watch the world go by of an evening.
View are great above Elgeta village which itself is high above the valley. Scenery would change constantly in the Basque mountains.
We were well received and enjoyed our stay in Eguzkitza and it was a convenient place to drive around the region with Bilbao & San Sebastian easily accessible by car. Our host gave good tips on how to visit those places.

I loved the place, set somewhat in the hills in a delightful town, with a well stocked bar downstairs and an extremely hospitable owner who cooked dinner for €11. The place itself reminds me of an old hotel from the 50’s, wooden panelling, noisy floors, big keys. Parking included, very very useful.
Very good basic hotel. Everything I required for a stopover. Magnificent view and particularly good shower. Strongly recommend for anyone not worried about luxury.
