It is a magical place, second time we have been there.
It is a magical place, second time we have been there. The food is amazing, and very beautiful area to explore. It is clearly busy most of the year, so glad we went in spring where it wasn't completely filled with tourists - but you can find places that are more authentic and not tourist traps. There are some great near-Michelin level restaurants for reasonable prices, and pintxos bars.

One of the most beautiful, interesting cities in Europe. Its respect to values and traditions can be appreciated on both buildings and people. Celebrate dine and wine with joy and gratitude. Do not miss the surrounding little towns on the coast, and the visit to Balenciaga Museum.

Not too different from other Spanish towns on the coast.
Not too different from other Spanish towns on the coast. We heard the restaurants were fantastic, but the serving times are too late for us. We dined on pintxos (tapas outside of Basque country) and that was great. Eat at Atari- delicious.

This the place for food in Basque country.
This the place for food in Basque country. Anthony Bourdain was right to rave. The Pintxos here are the best. Nothing we ate in Bilbao came close to San Sebastian. Food heaven.
A trip up on the Funicular to the Mercure hotel is worth it. Find the hotel entrance not the cafe terrace you see immediately upon arrival. Eat in the hotel Bistro in style with a spectacular view of San Sebastian.
The town and beach are gorgeous.

San Sebastian/Donostia is a lovely city and quite compact.
San Sebastian/Donostia is a lovely city and quite compact. It is not overwhelming. It is so easy to get around by public transportation and walking or biking. Best experience was going to the Iruin Astiazaran Sagardotegia, a cider house with great food and cider! Just outside the town. Also wonderful was walking along the beach promenade and seeing the ocean.

We had a lovely 3 night stay at the hotel and found the staff to be extremely pleasant and helpful. Cleanliness was exceptional throughout the hotel. The location of the hotel was perfect for us and Donostia-San Sebastián was so beautiful that it was great to be able to walk anywhere we wanted to from the hotel. We had breakfast on the last morning and it was very enjoyable too, the two ladies catering the dining room were very friendly and efficient also.
The staff were exceptional! The balcony from our room was right across from a gorgeous Cathedral; that was our view!! The room had a brick wall and was larger than we expected. The location was absolutely perfect, right in the heart of everything and literally a 5 minute walk to a local beach. Great restaurant recommendations from the staff. Breakfast was by far the best we had in our entire month stay in Spain. Highly recommend this hotel!
A wonderful stop on our way to Southern Spain. A beautifully designed hotel, large rooms with nice amenities, very pet friendly. We ordered room service and it arrived promptly and was very tasty. All in all the ambiance was lovely, if not luxurious, especially for the price. Staff are very friendly and very accomodating. A nig thumbs up!
I adore this boutique hotel!!!
So much art and vintage style!!
We love the fresh fruits, coffee, tea, bakeries that were available all day long!
So close to the old town of San Sebastián,bus station and beach also!
They recommend some restaurants and tapas bars!
We’ll be back soon!!
