The alarm went off at 3 in the morning. No staff was available and we were two hours on the street with no staff. There was a refund for the night. However, they need staff available if something happens at night.
Location and staff are great. They need someone living 15 minutes drive from the property to be available if something happens at night. The rooms looking at the see are impressive.
Garelos is set in the centre of Betanzos, and is ideal for those wanting to explore this small city. It has free Wi-Fi. The rooms are all spacious and have wooden floors.

Everything. What an amazing hotel our room with 2 large beds was like a suite and spotlessly clean with all you could ask for including coffee machine which are not in all hotels.
We loved this place and would happily come again.

We were walking the Camino Ingles and with no accommodation available in Betanzos we walked on to Cos, Church of St Estevo (Estaban). From there, Maria arranged a taxi (at no additional cost) to the beautiful Rectoral de Cines which is a few clicks off the track. We stayed 2 nights in this amazing 1000year old monastery, with gardens and courtyard, converted into a hotel with adjoining church. In addition to the scenery, the fabulous decor and artworks; Maria, Jessica and Juan were wonderfully welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. When ready to resume our walk, a taxi was called to drop us back to the church at Cos for us to resume the Camino. I'd highly recommend a stay here. Great value ...oh and I almost forgot, good food at night and at breakfast. No lunch service provided.
