What a beautiful hotel! Stunning property, stunning views and such great attention to detail everywhere you look! The staff are really friendly and were eager to help us during our entire stay with any needs we had. And they were not expecting tips like in the rest of Aswan, they were doing it because they genuinely wanted to help which was very much appreciated!
Our room was beautiful, spacious, and we were so pleased to see that we had a jacuzzi on our balcony, with a beautiful view of the Nile - wow!
The location is remote which is so relaxing and away from the bustle of Aswan but still within easy distance to get there, and the staff can book you a boat to get to the other side as long as you give them 30 mins notice and it is a free service.
The breakfast was also good!

The property is newly refurbished right on the west bank of the Nile near Aswan old dam and is very well connected with the Philae temple on Agilkia island.
The room was large and clean and it had a nice view on the Nile, with amazing view of the Nile at sunset.
The staff is really friendly and welcoming, especially the owner, Sied Wanas. He spent time with us, offered us tea and coffee and we had a lovely time with him at sunset hearing stories about the place and his family.
He also arranged for us the boat to Philae temple and a driver to Luxor, with stops at Kom Ombo and Edfu temples.
We also had a delicious dinner at the hotel and it was lovely as well as the family atmosphere.
I can’t recommend it enough if you visit Aswan and then head to Abu Simbel or Luxor on your own.

The trip to Abu Simbel is definitely worthwhile and was easily arranged through the staff here. I have heard the Nubian museum is very good. Philae Temple is also a very good trip, however the tours usually include a visit to the Aswan dam. The visit to the dam was 200 EGP, and I would recommend against paying this. Instead, you can stay sitting in the car and see the same as those paying. I did a late afternoon visit to St Simeon's monastery, accompanied by Eslam. It is an easy 10 minute walk up and was great fun running around in the desert in the late afternoon sun. The Nubean village was pretty, however Elephantine Island is much more authentic. The archeological area and small museum at the southern tip of the island was so-so.

One of the most stunning regions along the Nile river is in Aswan. The picturesque Philae temple is accessed via a boat and the entire region has stunning rock formations that compliment the impressive temple. It’s magical sailing into Philae temple. On the other side, Felluca boats dominate the Nile and create the most charming atmosphere with the backdrop of tomb sites on a desert sand mountain. A quick boat ride takes you to the Nubian village where you can indulge in shopping Nubian handicrafts and amazing Nubian food. Nubian village is so colorful and filled with the most warm people.

The best is the Nubian Village with their blue houses and a lot of decoration, you feel that you are in a movie set! It is really beautiful location.
Close it's the Philae Temple which is amazing! The trip in boat is necessary to access it and actually better than what I was expecting.
The worst is the amount of street animals in poor condition. Do not go on a tour around it as it's unnecessary and you will be taken to see crocodiles in small cages, we didn't do it specially for this reason. Anyway the village is easy to walk around if you don't mind the amount of people asking you to go to their shop, but that is in any part of Egypt

Great place as it's very far from big cities.
Great place as it's very far from big cities. However, you must be aware of constant harrassment and big prices on anything. It's definetely worth visiting, but don't think it's worth more than three days. Elephantine island is a MUST to stay and walk - very cozy place and very friendly people.

Much more laid-back than Luxor and a world away from Cairo.
Much more laid-back than Luxor and a world away from Cairo. Abu Simbel is only 3 hours away by car and was a high point of our Egypt trip. Philae is a nice excursion, and the Unfinished Obelisk and its quarry are interesting. We stayed in a hotel right on the Nile in the Nubian Village and would recommend that lower-key vibe.
The road from Luxor to Aswan has more speed bumps and check points than you can imagine; the good road on the West Bank is closed to tourist traffic. Ya gotta be patient. Consider the train...
The Aswan High Dam is rightfully a source of pride for the Egyptians but they don't let you see much of it for security reasons. You could spend your time better elsewhere.
Don't forget a pocket full of small bills (5-10-20s) for baksheesh for toilets, helpers, temple guards, etc. Be prepared to pay for meals in Egyptian pounds in smaller restaurants.

Beautiful historical places to visit from here.
Beautiful historical places to visit from here. Philae Temple and Abu Simbel (a 3-hour trip from Aswan) are the most chosen. But you can also enjoy the Nile kayaking, swimming or even crossing to Elephantine Island for a sunset drink or dinner.

The kindest people in Egypt. We felt very safe. Our flight was late at night, they organised a transfer from the airport and private boat to Elephantina Island. Very good contact with the owner who is ready to help and answer questions. Also a hotel is located close to the public ferry so it is easy to go to the orher side. Near is good restaurant King Jamaica. We went to Abu Simbel trip organised by hotel and it was very comfortable. A room has a good air condicioner. If we will go back to Aswan we will choose Nuba Dool.
Best house of Egypte so far! The house is beautiful and confortable. The hosts are exceptional : generous, accomodating, of good advice, they make you feel welcome and share there culture with you. The host even make us a tour of his village ; it was actually the best moment of our stay in Aswan. Also, the food is delicious. I still think about the breakfast and dinner they made for us. I recommend it!!!! The longer your stay, the best it is!
The hotel was clean, had adequate amenities and staff were friendly. View from the balcony was amazing. Food from the restaurant was great and fairly priced, service was excellent as well. They could also help arrange tours to Abu Simbel at reasonable prices. Highly recommend Citymax if Aswan is in your Egypt itinerary.
Very big room with nice view over Aswan and the Nile river.
The staff was really nice compared to other hotels we stayed at in Egypt.
Breakfast was OK.
