Chimborazo Lodge twins a remote and otherworldly location with absolute luxury inside - roaring fires, huge panes of glass to make the most of the views, extremely friendly staff and excellent food. The lodge and all the surrounding buildings are full of climbing memorabilia, hunting trophies and old photos of mountain climbers that give the place an aura of adventure. While we weren't undertaking a climb of Chimborazo - the views were enough for us - many of the other guests seemed to be. Oh, and the Lodge is surrounded by alpacas, and hummingbirds are everywhere!
Set in Chimborazo and only 16 km from Chimborazo Volcano, Chimborazo Basecamp offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking.
