Billum is a small village on the north side of the Wadden Sea National Park, so have a great variety of very unique nature on it's doorstep. There are the massive moor land Kallesmærsk Hede, the nature reserve Skallingen with it's marsh land, heathers and huge sand dunes, and you have Ho Bay just to the south of the village boasting a vast number of different sea birds and a very unique flora. On the west coast of Skallingen and further up along the west coast of Denmark, you have an endless wide sandy beach bordered by big sandy dunes. You will find a lot of the old German bunkers from WW2 here, and if you are lucky you might find some amber.
Even though Billum it self is surrounded by countryside, you are only a short drive away from the big town of Esbjerg to the south, or if you want the more touristy atmosphere there is Blåvand town to the north-west. Also within ca. 15 mins drive from Billum you have a couple of big sports parks / activity centres with in - and outdoor polls and lots of other activities. Also you have the big international standard golf course at Blåvandshuk Golf Club, which also have a very nice restaurant open to the public, serving an a la carte menu and a buffet dinner with traditional Danish food. There is also Billum Kro, a traditional Danish Inn which serves traditional Danish food.
