Went to visit family, but lovely town, excellent choice of shops, cafes, bars, restaurants all close by Hotel Am Muhlenteich. Friday market on in the morning in the square, great selection of fine foods, local specialities, clothing, etc. Churches close by and and great to wander through the old cobbled streets and visit the lovely old traditional bars.
The hotel is thoughtfully designed. The rooms are stylish and very comfortable – the bed in particular. The staff were welcoming and friendly and made every effort to accommodate us. There was so much choice at breakfast and it was very good value. There was also a very good selection of wine in the bar. If we have a reason to return to Schwelm we'd most definitely stay here again.

The night I was there (Sunday to Monday), I was the only guest, so the staff changed the breakfast schedule to a slightly later time, specially for me, which was nice.
very tasteful hotel. beautiful lounge with supercomfortable chairs and sofas. huge room, with big shower, sofa and super nice bed. everything very beautiful, and calming to the eye. my dog was also very welcome, and taken care of. best hotel in the vicinity for sure!!!

Breakfast buffet was good, as well as location. A short walk found us in the old pedestrian only section of Schwelm, with multiple restaurant options in close proximity.
The best thing about the property is the staff, very helpful and welcoming. The hotel is on a not too busy road but has a lovely park behind it, great if you have kids.
It's a quiet hotel in a small city. We've been travelling by car and it was easy to access the place and park there. Staff was helpful. Our room was clean.
