staff was very friendly and the pool was nice and warm, after a day in the car on our way to Italy it was very nice to stop and have a dip in the pool. also the Tanne Zapfle beers in the fridge happen to be one of my favorite beers in the world so that was a super surprise.

Schallbach is a nice village, peaceful with beautiful nature around, perfect for long walks. It is a bit away from small towns around the area but it is therefore very affordable. There is a bus 55 every hour taking you to a nice small town Weil am Rhein and Basel in Switzerland. In opposite direction it goes to another nice small town Kandern.
On the way south we stopped for one night in this hotel. Great quiet location, picturesque surroundings, free parking. You wake up with the chirping of the birds, lovely. Exceptionally clean. room well equipped, little balcony, perfect.
Downstairs they have the restaurant, pizzas are huge. Easily one pizza can feed a whole family 😄
The staff is more than friendly, they make you feel part of the family.
I highly recommend it.
