I cycled along the river Elbe, and took lots of photos of the city.
The weather was good, with sun shine and blue sky, so the view was perfect.
I suggest people can walk/cycle along the river, from Cathedral to Jahrtausendturm, just be enjoy the cozy.
The Cathedral has a total different view b/w days and nights, so go there twice!

You might want to visit for a day or two but it's not too spectacular.
If you get there visit the Hundertwasserhaus.

Interesting city.
Interesting city. Clean with nice places to eat - especially pan asian. Seems incredibly quiet and almost like two extra floors were built on every buiding that weren't needed. Still, a nice clean place with green spaces. The whole city's walkable. If you want a lively area, this is definitely not for you.

Very beautiful and historic city. It was especially beautifully decorated for the Christmas season and had an amazing Christmas market! Very goood restaurants, hotels, shopping and easy to navigate with the trams and buses. I’lll be back!

Interesting mixture of the old and new.
Interesting mixture of the old and new. The Stadtpark was a good contrast and a great view of the city from the top of the Albin-Müller-Turm. Easy to eat out. Slightly disappointed by the "number 1 attraction", the Grünen Zitadelle. Would have liked to take the tour, but it was only available in German so decided it was too expensive.
We have stayed in Motel One's before and like the value and option for parking. The rooms are a bit small, but we knew that ahead of time. We had our rental car and parked in the 'round the corner' garage which had a door directly up one flight (or there is an elevator from the garage) right into the hotel lobby. The location was very convenient as the Old Town square is right there, the cathedral is nearby, and it was a quiet area. We didn't have the breakfast so no comment there. Good place to stay and location was easy.
New and modern hotel with a private entrance to each room. The parking is very comfortable and you can park just in front of your room if you live on the first floor. The location is great despite being an industrial area actually. It is just near the A2 autobahn, also McDonald's and Norma supermarket are within a walking distance. There's a tram stop nearby, so you can reach Magdeburg by tram from there. The room has everything needed for a short stay.
Everything about the hotel is perfect; the location, the facilities and the breakfast. In addition, the staff is totally professional and extremely courteous. I would like to mention that Frau Cindy Thomas is extremely efficient and very helpful. I am waiting to visit this hotel in my next trip to Magdeburg.

Bed and pillows are great. Smart TV is available for YouTube, Netflix and others. They have left out one set of towel for us and I texted the owner. They got someone to deliver it to us in warm condition in less than 30mins. We were very happy.
Good place to arrive after a nine hour rail journey from London. A basic but comfortable hotel about 200 metres from Magdeburg station. Good for security. The no 9 tram is good for sightseeing, especially going north to the Neustadler See. Would recommend the four hour Elbe river cruise.
We could not get into the apartments pre-booked through the Booking service due to the owners' problem with the code lock. So at midnight we had no other choice. Fortunately for us, we were able to stay at Hotel Medaillon at such a late hour. At that time it was the best choice for us.
Good location, easy parking under the roof with access from the hotel - helps a lot during rainy weather, friendly and helpful staff, easy access to late tea, easy night walk with dog - no problem to return, middle of town location but very quiet, air conditioning in every room.
Being able to arrive at night, and still have a someone friendly at the reception to check us in, was a plus. It was a good hotel to visit while travelling with children. The breakfast was nice. Our superior family room was spacious and had great beds
everything was really good and staff was so friendly and helpful, just some minor basic equipments was less than other hotels and the wifi not covers my entire room (to specific, it just worked in some specific points in room)
The host was wonderful and the apartment was very clean and modern with all the amenities you might need for a short or long stay. We were about a 5-10 minute walk from the grocery stores as well as the nearest metro station.
Motel one is located in historical building with cool design inside and very nice lounge space. Rooms were perfect clean. We appreciated bowls for our dog as the hotel is dog friendly too. Really recommended.
Location was great, we had a family room / apartment which was very beautiful and included a very well equipped kitchen (which we didn't use, but it was nevertheless impressive), nice view from the balcony.
